Today I share my story of why I’m qualified to talk about this hot & at times taboo topic!

At 26 I had 3 jobs at once, front end loader, sold advertising, ran a bar.

At 37 attended first wealth creation seminar

At 40 created education company helping others get what they want, then invested into property.

Became financially free, just like I’m teaching and considered retirement at 53

Why it’s never too late to bridge the gap between being broke & being financially free

1. You must have a burning desire for creating wealth and freedom…want it bad

nothing changes/nothing changes

1. A big chief aim…what you want and why…according to your inner values

if the WHY is big enough the HOWS will show up

1. A plan that serves as many others as possible plus an investment plan (property, shares, business)

As a PT I could serve a few hundred.

As a speaker and educator I could serve thousands

Now… we can affect millions, in time.

Why People Stay In Jobs, Careers Or Businesses They Hate! - Gday Gorgeous Podcast Episode 9 With Amanda Jane

G’day Gorgeous!  

Today’s podcast episode 9 topic is...

“Why people stay in jobs, careers or businesses they hate!”  vocation

Well call me crazy, because not once, but many times in the past I found myself ‘stuck and frustrated’ in either a job or business I honestly hated!

Day in day out, like the proverbial hamster on a wheel, I’d drag my sorry self out of bed and go to work or a business I’d started for all the wrong reasons!

Have you ever done anything like this?

In my 30’s I started a pie van food business, and as I was a bit naive my big plan was to swan around, sell some tasty food, finish work early and wait for it...meet a few good looking guys and possibly even meet the man of my dreams.

What the...I hear you say!

Sadly, literally on day one, I knew I had made a big mistake!

My life felt like a mess, I feel sick even thinking about it! 

Are you cringing for me? OR have you been in my shoes in some way or another too? Knowing you’re in the deep end…but having no confidence or clarity on how to break FREE?

Most embarrassing of all was the fact that I could not pay rent. My amazing landlord Geoff, felt sorry for me, and for a while I was paying him in hot roast chickens.

After 3 long years the day finally came when I couldn’t face one more day.

I was feeling like a real loser, but I knew that If I didn’t follow my heart and make a move then, I’d end up living my life by default…not by design.

Today's Fabulous AHA inspirations and life success lessons  

I learnt so many life lessons during those 3 long years but if I was to boil them down to my top 3 here's what they are (journal)

1. If you really dislike or hate your job, career or business, take the time to know WHAT you really want in life and WHY you want it and then ask yourself, what job, career or business would I most enjoy along the way to achieving the dreams I have? I’ve learned over the years than unless you’re happy along the journey…you’re not going to be happy, if and when you achieve what you’re aiming for!
   
   
2. NEVER QUIT ON YOUR DREAMS
   Jobs, careers and businesses are like ‘JACKETS of life we try on, wear, and outgrow. Some fit for years, others for a season.
   
   Don’t let society or others fool you into believing that you have to ‘FIT INTO ONE JACKET OF LIFE for your professional life. Thats B.S.!
   
   
3. Instead of looking on the outside of yourself for permission, or to point the finger at others or to blame and complain…have a good look in the mirror and take responsibility for your own happiness and fulfilment.
   
   Nobody cares about you and your dreams as much as you do so don’t expect anyone to tap you on the shoulder and create them for you.
   
   Set yourself FREE mentally and emotionally and give yourself permission to shine your light as brightly as you can.
   
   AND if you can’t then I do! Go shine gorgeous!

“Why 85 Percent of people are unhappy with their job, career or business”

G’day Gorgeous!  

IF you've been listening to my Gday Gorgeous podcast for a few weeks now, you may recall that I have had a total of 33 different jobs and started 14 different businesses from scratch!

Well it's true and you'd be forgiven if you thought I was nuts and needed help! the truth is far from that though. 

The truth is that I had a Lack of clarity, too scared to follow my own heart, didn’t have self belief, too scared of what others think and say. 

Truth be known that the real issue was that I had low self esteem. 

What if I learnt a new skill and reignited my enthusiasm, instead of letting it die with boredom? What if i was in the wrong job and I was actually robbing another from having their dream job? 

Thankfully those days are in the past but what I'm most grateful for are the lessons derived from each experience. 

Who was I becoming as a person?

Was I growing or dying. My dreams were alive and well and as years went by i learned to know and understand my own set of values and what was important to me. 

I explored so many opportunities and business and i could only do this because i let go of the need to be liked, conform. 

The price was too high for me...is it for  you too?

Are you in the wrong job or are you ungrateful because you don't see the value in what you are doing? Are you being of value to others?

Do you have dreams inside you that you want to explore and fulfil, but too scared to have a go? 

Why do you believe you're unhappy? Are you there cause you have to or want to be?

“The most important relationship you can have”

One of my mentors once shared this profound message with me....no matter what you have or have not done, you are worthy of love. 

I knew intrinsically that she was speaking the truth and if I wanted to attract loving and caring relationships into my life, then I needed to have a caring and loving relationship with myself. 

If I couldn’t accept and love myself, how could I expect others to love and accept me for who I was authentically?  

I realised in a moment of clarity that I needed to appreciate who I was, discover and know my value and worth before I could hope others would know my value and worth.

I also began to realize that I’d invested in, that if I was truly ready and willing to live my best years yet, and become the best version of me, then there was something else I needed to do.

What was it?

It was to learn to somehow make peace with past disappointments, resentment, anger, feelings of shame, powerlessness and all the frustrating emotions I held inside me because I was in blame mode for so many years.

I began to ask better questions and as Tony Robbins says, the quality of your questions determine the quality of your life!

Decide what you will and will not tolerate from yourself from today onwards? why not set some new empowering standards for yourself?

What behaviours, language, self talk have you got going on habitually that is not taking you closer to your hopes and dreams? 

How to let go of my resentment towards others...my parents teachers particular. 

I had started to put new and exciting rituals into my life that I practice daily without fail. 

In time they would form what I now call MY LIVE NOW FREEDOM FORMULA even though back then I didn't have all the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle...but I was working on it.

How To Tame The Toxic Self Talk Beast! - Gday Gorgeous Podcast Episode 6 With Amanda Jane Clarkson

Once I made a personal commitment to empowering my life instead of trying to live with conformity, trying to fit in with everyone ...desperately wanting to be liked and loved for who I was, I began to realize that for things to change first I must change. 

This was a hard pill to swallow I admit...but I was so sick and tired of being sick and tired. I would look in the mirror and really beat up on myself...wasn't pretty enough, wasn't popular enough, wasn’t smart enough, wasn't born into the right family, failed everything at school, didn't fit in for whatever reason, I began to realise it was little wonder my self talk was beyond toxic! 

At times it was a wild beast! I would blame everyone else for the way I felt with no real understanding of how to change my thoughts. 

Once I began to learn how our minds are conditioned as kids from our parents, guardians, school peers, teachers, religion, government and especially environment and back in the 70's TV...I could see how I was kinda taught to believe and speak and act as others did....monkey see, monkey do situation. 

I also discovered and could see that, these same thoughts that I had from early childhood were not exactly helping me live my dreams. In fact, year after year, my life was the same. Same attitude, same types of friends, same experiences and same results...but I wanted more than that...don't you? 

For me, I had decided that my future was far too important to leave in the hands of my old ways of thinking and acting. Unless I did something about it, how could I expect a different result? 

How was I going to live the dream...for me it was all about FREEDOM. 

Being in control of my own life and doing the things I dreamed of since I was a young girl. Of course, over the years my dreams and goals had changed, but not the underlying yearning for FREEDOM to live life on my own terms not somebody else's! 

Especially society and conformity; that just was not for me. With the help of my many mentors (and this is what I do in my coaching) the first step is to love and nurture SELF so that you can tame the wild beast that is your toxic self talk ladies!! 

Here's a couple of empowering ideas and ways with which I was able to gradually kill off that toxic beast...remembering it was years of conditioning and years of habitual self talk that I was transforming, so my motto is one day at a time, one step at a time.

I would look in the mirror and point out the positive aspects about myself, the fact that I had eyes that could see, ears that can hear sounds of nature and all sorts of amazing things, I had hair that I could color and change any time i felt like it, I had hands that could touch, caress, pick up things, I had legs that ran fast when I needed them to, and I thought about how miraculous the body is and how when we go to sleep at night our body continues to work and repair itself. 

I know some of these topics are heavy, I know that they might also be hard to take in, but I promise you it’s worth pushing through if you want more from life. If you want more from this amazing gift we’ve been given.

The Secret To Living Your Happiest Life - Gday Gorgeous Podcast Episode 5 With Amanda Jane Clarkson

The first big takeaway fore this video is that YOU are the lucky break...let me share my epiphany story #1 to help you understand how powerful that one statement is and can be for you.

You may have heard the saying that what you think about you bring about and I wholeheartedly agree with this important philosophy.

Your life is like a bank...what you invest is all you can withdraw and it can grow and accumulate over time, just like a bank balance.

Too many people avoid thinking about the important questions in life, yet it’s actually really exciting to be able to delve into the art of self discovery...discover who you are and what your own unique values are, discover what makes your heart truly sing?

When you’re wondering what really makes you happy in life, have a think about what do you think about mostly, where and what do you spend your money on?

What people and environment do you surround your self with?

With your inner most voice, what sort of self talk do you say to yourself?

How do you talk to other people and what conversations do you have?

Each day you are taking actions and doing things that if you take the time to feel and wonder, you will know what you  feel most inspired by...what is it?

When I first learned that my luck was 'me' and that i was the answer, I made the decision there and then, along with a commitment, that I would work harder on myself than my job, or career, or business, for the rest of my life.

I made the decision that no matter what it took, I would invest into my self education, so that I could become the person I needed to be, to live the life I truly dreamed of, since I was a young kid.

Like you, I had dreams; big dreams, and I knew in my heart that with my limited understanding and limited knowledge, I would never achieve many of those lofty dreams, until I made some big changes.

The first thing I did was invest in books. I'd read everything I could get my hands on, while studying to become a personal trainer. I didn't just want to help my clients with their health and fitness, I wanted to have a way bigger impact than that!

Today I listen to podcasts. YouTube videos and invest in mentors....and now I have a wealth of knowledge and information that has become my mission to pass on to others.

You see it’s not a cost but an investment. Whatever your budget is for personal growth (don’t scrimp on yourself or others will scrimp on you!) the most impactful and empowering lesson, I ever received from my mentors, was the understanding of self discovery and that we each have a set of unique values that are our own.

I didn't know this, and this is why I know I had so many jobs that I didn't love, so many life lessons I didn't understand at the time. it was because I wasn't living according to my own values, but someone elses.

The Secret To Loving Exercise is not just a fancy title it truly is something each of us can do.

When I was doing personal training it wasn’t all about losing weight or measuring fat cells...it was about how we made them FEEL....special, important and worthwhile...the sessions were well thought out and planned.

As personal trainers we never talked about us, just asked questions about the clients. We were generally very interested in them and what they wanted to achieve.

instead of talking about body fat, or losing weight, we'd talk about life and what they wanted to do with their life, in terms of maintaining health and vitality. We'd get the clients to imagine their perfect healthy day.

How they'd feel, where they'd go, what they'd do. We would talk about tightening up floppy arms (bingo arms) and getting bum cheeks to face north instead of south, fun ways of talking about sometimes sensitive topics to some people.

One of my main strategies was to pick an item of clothing that had special meaning to them....focus on your feelings that is the main thing.

Not what size you are, not how heavy you are, but how you feel in certain clothes you love to wear. Once you understand it doesn’t have to be hard, or uncomfortable, it can be enjoyable and just your change of focus and mindset, can really make such an impact, you won’t believe it!

Visualize yourself in your outfit daily and take note of the way you feel...you'll more likely want to do your exercises...choose your magic outfit you pop on every morning, that gets you in the frame of mind to go workout, or go for a walk.

Feeling healthy and loving exercise is a decision we can all make in life and once you head down that path I can guarantee you that it becomes part of who you are, and your body, your mind, and your family and friends will thank you.

Try to remember the person you would want to be if you were healthy, loved exercise and had fun doing it, well into your golden years.
