Imposter Syndrome is huge in the adoptee community. 

Do you ever feel like a fake? Do you have anxiety that your true self will be revealed and you are an imposter in your own life?

Did you know that up to 82% of people in general say they recognize imposter syndrome in their own lives as well?

Almost everyone suffers from these thoughts, BUT...

As an adoptee, its pretty obvious why we feel like imposters in our own lives. Think about it! As an adoptee, the current personae you are using is not your original self. Even our birth certificates are changed and hidden, and names changed. An assumed identity replaces our original biological one. Our origin is almost completely erased. We are often a fake version of ourselves. A version that is uncomfortable because we have conformed to our "new" identity. It's like being in the witness protection program. We aren't allowed to talk about who or where we came from.

 We had no control over what happened to us. We have disappeared. Just gone, and we take on a new identity altogether. 

There are many degrees at which Imposter Syndrome affects us, some more than others. 

It's time to stop conforming and stop hiding from our authentic selves.

In this episode we will talk about how Imposter Syndrome shows up as adoptees and why.

Then we will discuss ways to help silence that Imposter voice inside.

GASLIGHTING. Adoptees have felt gaslighted for years by others that are not adopted. The last place it should be happening is within our private social communities, but it certainly does. Judging, shaming, arguing and anger can sometimes be witnessed on social media adoptee sites. Even though we all have the "Adopted" label, our traumas and triggers can look very different due to our diverse adoption journeys, therefore, making our opinions varied as well. What can we do about this when tensions and emotions are high? 

It's time we come together as a united community, all be it, a community with many opinions. We may not be in the same boat, but we find ourselves in the same ocean called Adoption. It's time to educate the world, and we can't do that if we are divided.

November is Adoption Awareness Month. 

Are you AWARE that the states get kickback incentives for adoptions through the foster care system? 

Are you AWARE that these incentives are based on how adoptable you are? If you are 14 and older, you are considered 'harder to place,' and the price tag for your adoption is much higher than younger children. 

Are you AWARE that almost $900 million dollars have been awarded to eligible states since these kickbacks have started?

Are you AWARE that some families are claiming the states are legally kidnapping their children through the court system and adopting them out for money? These are closed adoptions so these families may never see their family members again!

Are you AWARE that private adoptions can cost well over $40,000?

Do we care that America's children have price tags on their heads? 

Why are children being trafficked by the government, and by agencies with deep pockets? 

Why is it legal for these government and private agencies to make money from the adoption of our children, but it is illegal and called trafficking if a person tries to adopt out their children for money?

The system is broken, and it's time to EDUCATE THE WORLD!

I've been doing it for years! It works! It really works!

 Let me just say this-In a nutshell, motivation is CRAP! It's a total set up! Why? because it is never there when you need it the most! NO! It never is! Am I right? So now what?? So, how are you going to get the 'motivation' to pick up your shovel and plant flowers instead of digging that hole you find yourself in? 

Wait for motivation? 

You might as well take that shovel and dig your own grave.

Find out the brain hack. It's so simple, you will wonder why you didn't think of it first and make millions like Mel Robbins did.
