In 2013, Pamela Babek (Dreamer) sponsored a baby doll for a little girl named Mattie in Georgia that was battling brain cancer (DIPG.) The baby doll was custom made for Mattie to help her cope with her cancer journey. Mattie named her baby doll Angel. Trish Stuber (Wisher), a cancer survivor, suggested making a hospital doll gown for Mattie’s baby doll and Mattie’s little sister’s baby doll.

Pamela posted the photo of the first hospital doll gown made by Trish on FB. Due to Pamela’s involvement with children battling cancer, many parents started asking if they could make a gown for their child’s buddy.

Mattie and her doll, Angel were their inspiration to create Wishers and Dreamers. They are thankful this little girl entered their lives, and she will always have a special place in their hearts.

Mattie earned her angel wings in November of 2013. Pamela and Trish have received support from family, friends, and just about everyone that hears about their mission. They feel it’s important for all that are involved to feel the way they do when a child receives a gown for their buddy. The personal touch of their faith-based mission is important to them.

The story behind the Wisher and Dreamers name: Wishers and Dreamers Doll Gowns mission was named after sisters Trish and Pamela’s childhood nicknames for each other.

When they were young, Pamela called Trish “Wish” because it rhymed. The name “Wish” over time turned into “Wisher”. When Pamela called Trish “Wisher” Trish responded by calling Pamela “Dreamer”. Still to this day they fondly use the nicknames, “Wisher and Dreamer”. They deliver hospital gowns to children’s hospitals all over the United States, including Rady’s Children’s Hospital located in San Diego, CA. They also deliver the gowns to the Ronald McDonald House located next to Radys. They have had the pleasure of meeting many children and families over the years.

Teresa Rodden is the author of Wholly Sober – How I stopped thinking about drinking and started loving my life, The Primed Drinker, and most recently published the 28 Day Journal – Explore.

With only a handful of months in Alcoholics Anonymous, she left the rooms of AA convinced that if alcohol remained the focus of her life, she would inevitably end up drunk again.

Some call her a rebel and others a pioneer.

Rodden founded Pink Cloud Coaching in 2012 after witnessing many of the friends she had met in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous continue to struggle with alcohol and ending up in prison, and some even died.

Darla Marcel is a mom of 6 who has holistically healed, 7 diagnosis without prescriptions on herself. She has been married for almost 20 years in January to Trampas Marcel. One of their children is a special needs kiddo with CP, Kidney, and Lung disease. They are waiting currently to hear of a donor match so they can transplant a new kidney in August, hopefully! She has another child with epilepsy.

 She has a passion for health but need it to be really simple, dumb downed and actually work. She has battled depression, ptsd, anxiety, and has not been medicated for it. She is not against medicine, it’s just the last option for our family. She is allergic to the world, not kidding, she says she should walk around with an epi pen and she loathes exercise.  

Her love language is definitely service to those that she cares about because she truly believes that we can be great in our own skin and she hopes that she can just change the lives of a few people because then her life will be worth changing for.

Jessica Patay is a mother, wife, and advocate/cheerleader for Special Needs Mothers.  She has been married to her husband, Chris, for 24 years and they reside in the Palos Verdes area of Southern California. They have two sons and a daughter, all teenagers.  Their second son, age 18, was born with a rare, medically complex genetic disorder, called Prader-Willi syndrome.

Because Jessica is passionate about serving, mentoring, and inspiring other Special Needs Moms, she launched and leads a non-profit organization called We Are Brave Together.  WABT provides resources, respite, support groups, mentoring and inspiration for moms caring for children or adult children, any age, with any diagnosis, disability or challenge.
