I’ve been practicing as a therapist since 2007 when I realized that therapy was the meeting point of my love of knowledge and passion for relationships.

Completing a Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, I felt like I now had the education I needed but wasn’t well equipped with how to help people make changes in their life. As a result, I also became a certified coach through the Robbins-Madanes Training Center. As a therapist and a coach, I can focus on helping, listening, and supporting, as well as teaching, modeling, and action-based services. I call this “being an active therapist.”

As an active therapist, I am listening to your concerns, working with you to understand your specific situation, and collaborating with you on specific solutions in each session. No two people are created alike; thus no two solutions should be exactly the same either.

Educated professionals who love knowledge and seek to understand themselves on a deeper level are often drawn to my work; as well as, results-driven professionals who are committed to the outcome (overcoming fear) more than they are worried about any potential discomfort that outcome may require.

In session, our work is collaborative; when appropriate I will adjust my style to fit your needs. I believe that it’s not how fast you grow or change that matters, but that you do so at a pace that meets your expectations. I will challenge you and push you when I believe it’s in your best interest, but it is always your decision on how fast we move.

I often recommend exercises in between sessions to support continual growth. Sustainable progress in therapy comes down to one single tenant.

Those who are willing to do work outside of session are more likely to make progress faster and sustain it longer than those who don’t. You can only have lasting growth if you are able to understand the problem and then be willing to act on the solution. At the end of the day, you will get out of the therapeutic experience what you put into it.

I’m here because I believe in growth, change, and your power to create a drastically different life than the one you’re living now–not by changing who you are, but by embracing it. I’ve seen it happen many times and I believe it can happen for you too.

Natashia Kletter, is a mother to a son on the Autism Spectrum and a daughter who is Neurotypical. This book series "I Want to Tell You", is designed for children with communication challenges, but will benefit all young kids who are at the beginning of their speech development.

By incorporating multiple language modalities and senses, a child develops new pathways in the brain. This book series incorporates touch, sight, sound, visual word recognition, sign language, and is a precursor to a communication device for nonverbal children.

As a mother to a nonverbal child, she understood the challenges of picture exchange systems, and the difficulty in convincing a child to use a communication device that is unattractive, and is also very expensive!

This book series bridges that gap!

Joe Hesketh, shares his life story, this may very well end up being a two-part episode. This however, will begin our journey with a multi episode series with Mr. and Mrs Hesketh.

He will be celebrating his 89th birthday in July! He is still going strong after being born with severe Asthma, having lobar pneumonia during his first year in school, losing all his hair to Alopecia as a teen, surviving a plane “crash” at age 35, stomach surgery for an ulcer at age 51 then an unexpected quadruple heart bypass surgery 36 years ago at age 53.

He is the father of eight children, five girls and three boys, grandfather of 35, and great grandfather of 37 at last count. (Aria is number 29).

Born and raised in Rhode Island he was the oldest child and was joined by a brother and two sisters during the next ten years.

As a youngster and unable to play sports because of his Asthma, he kept busy with a Paper route, selling “tomorrows fresh bread and rolls” door to door, selling Readers Digest subscriptions door to door, baby sitting, at age 9 he started being a helper on a retail milk truck and that lasted about 6 years. Spent a portion of a summertime helping an uncle build a Bomb Shelter under his home and also working for the Henniker NH Highway department as a helper.

Active at his Church he was appointed to the position of Chief Altar Boy.

Early interest in Fire Fighting he joined the Pawtuxet, RI Volunteer Fire company as a Jr Fireman at age 16, became a driver at 18, appointed a Lieutenant at age 20, the youngest Officer ever.

He is a graduate of Providence College with a BS in Business Management and a Commission as 2nd Lt in the US Army Corps of Engineers. He spent two years on active duty and then five more years in the in the Active Army Reserve.

Sarah Callegari, joins us to share her passion of service to others. Being a firefighter and a paramedic has its struggles, however Sarah strives for more in her career. Zena Villarello, is a wife, a mother of three, and grandmother of four. She is a retired police officer that has endured over 30 surgeries, had many subsequent ailments and lived taking many medications, until BioReigns.

Mark Ostrom, with Joy Collaborative in his nearly three decades in the architecture and design industry Mark took the bold step of combining his love for design and his passion for helping others into Joy Collaborative.

Founded in 2019 on a shoestring budget and a rolodex filled with colleagues, Mark officially launched Joy Collaborative. Joy Collaborative is a group of impassioned-doers and volunteers who help create spaces for kids with life-limiting conditions. The first Joy Collaborative space “Brave Bear” was created for Kodiak a Twin Cities child with a rare genetic disorder. The spaces are created through partnerships with the architecture & interior design community and financial donations from the corporate community. The Twin Cities 501©(3) expects to create up to 10 projects in 2021.

The organization is enriched by partnerships with LifetimeFitness, the Minnesota Twins, Twin Cities Orthopedics, and other generous organizations contributing to the well-being and advancement of youth.

Camp Yakety Yak (CYY) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to help children with special needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Disability) grow socially and emotionally by improving their communication skills. The camp's educational mission is two-fold:

1) provide instruction in social & emotional skills to children with special needs & their siblings to support friendship development in a day camp setting;

2) provide an opportunity for future professionals in educational and therapeutic fields to gain knowledge and hands-on experience in working with children with special needs.

Eighty percent of their staff members are students from local universities and high schools who receive 10-30 hours of training and ongoing supervision by their professional faculty.

They offer a high camper to staff/volunteer ratio and provide 1:1 support to campers that have higher needs.

Intensive practice in social skills (5 hours a day, 5 days a week) with an emphasis on school, home and community success.

Multi-disciplinary team of professional supervisors and consultants from general & special education, speech pathology, occupational therapy, behavior analysis, counseling, and nursing.

Highly trained college-level staff with university partnerships for speech pathology and occupational therapy. We are a "teaching camp" similar to a "teaching hospital." Mature teen volunteers round out our staff and bring the fun element.

Service to the whole family in our "Reverse Inclusion" model featuring support of neurotypical siblings who attend right along with their brothers and sisters with special needs.

Weekly "Adult Yak" Support Meetings facilitated by CYY Parent Advisory Board Members, with an active Facebook page fostering parent connection throughout the year!

Cynthia Stinson is the President of the Board of Camp Yakety Yak, a summer day camp in the Portland area providing a vibrant camp experience to campers experiencing disabilities.

Camp Yakety Yak provides a fun environment for kids to be kids, have fun, and improve their communication and social skills. In its ten years, Camp Yakety Yak has also trained many helping professionals through their work at camp.

Aaron Mathis, is a husband and proud father of two daughters that has spent the last 16 years delivering on his passion for helping others. That passion was sparked by first helping himself.

A once morbidly obese office worker buried in debt, Aaron took control of his health losing over 100 pounds, and then harnessed his inner entrepreneur and completely changed his finances.

It was at that point he began empowering others to take on the obstacles in their own lives to create optimal health and wealth.

Earthtones Northwest is a private music therapy agency serving Portland and surrounding areas since 1996. They offer individual, family, and group services online, in-home, at community centers, and in residential care facilities. Sandy Getman is the driving force behind the mission of Wheel to Walk. Having a granddaughter with Muscular Dystrophy, Sandy saw firsthand the difficulties one goes through to get the essential equipment needed to help with day-to-day activities.

When Sandy's granddaughter was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy at the age of two, she knew there was nothing she could do about it, but had to DO something. She held her first fundraiser (a Holiday Luncheon, a tradition that continues today) and raised $400 dollars and was thrilled to be able to donate that money to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Since then, Wheel to Walk has flourished and places their focus on purchasing medical & adaptive equipment and therapy services for children with special needs so they can thrive and be the best of themselves.

Sandy is a former business owner, was a costumer for the Oregon Symphony’s Norman Leyden Singers, married 61 years to her husband, Don, has 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. Sandy devotes most of her time at Wheel to Walk fulfilling application requests.

Wheel to Walk Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps children with disabilities, 20 years and younger, obtain medical & adaptive equipment or therapy services not provided by insurance.
