For years, Fitness persons have extolled the value of these things for being extra important. But ARE THEY?
Ok, yes. Brown rice has more vitamins and minerals than white rice (which is the same thing, with the husk polished off) BUT....brown rice also has “anti-nutrients”, which bind to vitamins and tender them unavailable to your body. -
YES, brown rice is also a lower glycemic carb, fine. But WHEN was the last time you ate just a bowl of white rice with no other food? You generally combine rice with other foods like meat, beans, veggies, or meat - which slows the digestion anyways. -
