  • From False Imaginations to God's Truth: Reclaiming Your Minds Filter

    Key Scripture References:

    • Matthew 5 (Sermon on the Mount - as we think in our hearts, we are guilty)
    • Proverbs 23:7 (As a man thinks in his heart, so is he)
    • Proverbs 3:5 (Don't lean on your own understanding)
    • Romans 12:2 (Be transformed by the renewing of your mind)

    Main Themes:

    • How mental filters work and process information
    • The danger of emotion-driven perception
    • Feelings as signals vs. feelings as filters
    • Creating alternate realities through emotional filtering
    • God's Word as the ultimate truth filter
    • Bringing feelings to God for clarity and correction

    Understanding Mental Filters:

    How Our Brains Process Information:

    • Everyone has unique filters based on past experiences, beliefs, values, and learning styles
    • Too much data exists for conscious processing at any moment
    • The brain filters information by deleting, distorting, or generalizing
    • This happens constantly without our awareness
    • Two people can experience the same event but have different recollections

    The Problem with Emotion-Controlled Filters:

    • Feelings delete key information that doesn't fit their narrative
    • Emotions distort facts to support how we feel
    • Feelings create overgeneralizations based on incomplete data
    • This leads to false assumptions treated as absolute truth
    • We end up in a "camp of false imaginations."

    The Solution - Three Steps:

    Step 1: Acknowledge Your Filters

    • Recognize that mind filters exist
    • They're doing their best but aren't perfect
    • Swallow pride and admit there may be more to the story
    • Your assumptions might not be accurate

Step 2: Remove Feelings from Control

    • Feelings aren't designed to filter experiences
    • They're actually horrible at this job
    • Use God's Word as your filter instead
    • God's truth is absolute, unchanging, and not fickle
    • Truth will tell you what you NEED to hear, not what you WANT to hear
    • God's truth should shake you up and make you wrestle at times

Step 3: Let Feelings Do Their Intended Job

    • Feelings are a precious gift from God
    • Their purpose: signal that something deeper needs attention
    • Bring feelings to God for clarity
    • Let Him show what needs attention, correction, or realignment
    • Feelings are real, but shouldn't filter experiences

    Processing Common Emotions with God:

    Jealousy:

    • Signals: Desire for something you don't have
    • Wrong response: Jealous rage or belittling others
    • Godly response: Ask the Lord what exactly you're jealous about, if it's good for His plan, and how to cultivate it (or why it arose if it's not for you)

    Anger:

    • Signals: Belief that someone/something treated you wrongly or unfairly
    • Wrong response: Lashing out, building a bitter case
    • Godly response: Ask if you've been wronged, if you have all the information, what the next step is, how to address it while honoring God

    Sadness:

    • Signals: Belief that you've lost something important and valuable
    • Wrong response: Letting it overtake and spiral you
    • Godly response: Ask for clarity on what you believe was lost, if it's truly gone, how God can comfort and redeem you

    Anxiety/Fear:

    • Signals: Belief that you're in danger or facing a future threat
    • Wrong response: Spiraling quickly into worst-case scenarios
    • Godly response: Ask if the threat is real or imagined, what exactly you're worried about, what truth to stand on, what steps return you to peace

    Key Principles:

    • Feelings make terrible filters
    • God's Word is the best filter available
    • God does not distort anything—He is truth, clarity, and order
    • God's truth doesn't bow to your likes or opinions
    • God's truth demands you rise up to holy standards
    • This aligns perceptions, beliefs, and responses with ultimate truth

  • All In: What It Really Means to Love God

    Main Themes:

    • The significance of the word "all" in loving God completely
    • Relationship over religious checklist
    • Old Testament foundation, New Testament fulfillment
    • Honest self-examination of our love for God
    • The rewards and promises for those who love God fully
    • Living out love for God in everyday life

    Four Aspects of Loving God:

    1. Loving God with All Your HEART: Self-assessment questions:

    • Do I give the Lord my greatest attention?
    • Do I give Him the first and best of me, or is He an afterthought?
    • Is the Lord whom I'm going after above everything else?
    • Is He ultimately my treasure and reward?
    • Or am I chasing something else and adding His name to it?

    2. Loving God with All Your SOUL (Breath/Spirit/Essence): Self-assessment questions:

    • Am I fully surrendered to God?
    • Is my life fully His?
    • Am I following His lead or going my own way?
    • Am I using my gifts to bless Him and further His kingdom, or to bless myself and further my own?
    • Am I walking in the good works He prepared, or my own works with a Christian umbrella?

    3. Loving God with All Your MIND (Deep Thoughts/Understanding): Self-assessment questions:

    • Am I being intentional in understanding the Lord?
    • Am I meditating on His word?
    • Am I aligning my thoughts to His truth and taking thoughts captive?
    • Or am I manipulating His truth to fit my life and preconceived notions?
    • Am I seeking the Lord's wisdom or the world's wisdom?
    • Am I applying what I learn, or just getting an initial high and forgetting it?

    4. Loving God with All Your STRENGTH (Enforcefulness/Intentional Power): Self-assessment questions:

    • Do I fight to keep my love for the Lord?
    • Or do I let it slide when times get tough?
    • Do I give up on who He is and His promises?
    • Am I paying attention to what He's doing in my life?
    • Am I leaning on and trusting Him through difficult times?

Key Promises for Those Who Love God:

    • Perfect and constant peace (Isaiah 26:3)
    • God's dwelling presence in our lives (John 14:23)
    • All things working together for good (Romans 8:28)
    • Blessings beyond human comprehension (1 Corinthians 2:9)
    • Completion of the good work He began (Philippians 1:6)

    Important Clarifications:

    • This isn't about earning God's love through a checklist
    • We're under the new covenant—Jesus died once for all
    • It's always been about relationship, not legalism
    • The relationship was broken in Eden and restored through Christ
    • God's love allows choice—He never forces us to love Him
    • Every choice has consequences

  • What Lens Are You Looking Through? The Choice That Changes Everything

    Key Scripture References:

    • Luke 6:45 (Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks)
    • John 16:33 (Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world)
    • 1 Corinthians 13:12 (Now we see in part, then we'll know in full)
    • Isaiah 1:18 (Come now, let us reason together)

    Main Themes:

    • The power of perspective and choosing your lens
    • The Israelites' 40-year journey as a cautionary example
    • Living in a fallen world while maintaining hope
    • The difference between toxic positivity and biblical truth
    • Surrender and trust in difficult circumstances

    Key Concepts:

The Two Lenses: Looking through the lens of pain/disappointment vs. the lens of God's truth and promises

Complaining Defined: Not just acknowledging difficulty, but a deep expression of dissatisfaction, annoyance, and discontent—a chosen heart posture

What You Focus On Grows: The principle that whatever we feed with our attention will expand in our lives

Enemy's Strategy: Keeping us focused on circumstances, exhausted from trying to control the uncontrollable, and developing false beliefs about God

    Three-Step Framework:

    • Acknowledge & Bring It Before the Lord  - Fully recognize your circumstances, including your role and responsibilities. Lay everything on the altar in honest, surrendered prayer
    • Choose Your Lens - Decide whether to view your future through your understanding or God's truth
    • Walk it Out - Your choices will determine your next steps

    Important Notes:

    • This is not about "positive vibes only" or toxic positivity
    • Bad things do happen, often to good people without cause
    • We cannot hide our thoughts and feelings from God—He invites honest discussion
    • Every choice has consequences that shape our future path

    Practical Application:

    • Ask yourself: What lens am I choosing to look through?
    • Examine your heart posture in difficult situations
    • Consider what you're feeding with your focus and attention
    • Reflect on how confident you are in your assumptions vs. trusting God's understanding

    • Psalm 119:7 (AMP)
    • Matthew 16:26
    • Philippians 1:6
    • Jeremiah 15:19
    • Deuteronomy 32:39

    Core Themes

    • The difference between godly grief and worldly grief
    • How bitterness forms through unmet expectations and disappointment
    • Why surrender—not self-fixing—is essential for healing
    • God’s purpose in pain and “sanctified experiences”
    • Character development versus comfort

    Godly Grief vs. Worldly Grief

    • Godly grief: Pain permitted to be directed by God, leading to repentance, freedom, and life
    • Worldly grief: Hopeless sorrow rooted in distrust, blame, and self-reliance, leading to spiritual death

    Key Insights

    • God does not force healing; He invites surrender
    • Pain becomes redemptive when we permit God to direct it
    • Bitterness opens the door to the enemy; surrender closes it
    • God may allow “crooked paths” to expose enslaving thought patterns
    • Internal transformation is often the true purpose behind external pain

    Common Barriers to Healing

    • Needing answers on our own terms
    • Holding tightly to “why” instead of trusting God’s wisdom
    • Distrust and suspicion toward God’s character
    • Fixating on external solutions rather than internal renewal

    Practical Reflection

    • Where have you resisted surrender in your pain?
    • Are you holding unspoken distrust or disappointment toward God?
    • What might God be inviting you to release so He can heal and restore?

    Encouragement

    • God is faithful to complete the work He began in you
    • Surrender may feel risky, but God is trustworthy
    • Pain permitted to God never goes to waste

  • Have We Lost the Heart of Christmas? Returning to The Cornerstone.

Have We Lost the Heart of Christmas? Returning to The Cornerstone.

In this Christmas-focused episode, we explore what our hearts are actually centered on during this season. While the lights, gifts, food, and festivities are wonderful blessings to enjoy, they were never meant to become the main thing.

Drawing from the Christmas narrative in Luke 2, Kristin highlights a rarely emphasized moment: Mary “pondering and treasuring” the words spoken by the angels. While heaven rejoiced and the earth celebrated, Mary chose reflection. She set something in her heart that night—something foundational.

    We walk through:

✨ What Mary understood about the Messiah

    • The Jewish expectation of a political rescuer
    • Why Jesus arriving as a baby didn’t match their assumptions
    • How Mary held onto truth instead of her own understanding

✨ Why “cornerstone” is such a powerful spiritual concept

    • A cornerstone determines the alignment, integrity, and stability of the entire structure
    • Psalm 118:22, Matthew 21:42, and Ephesians 2:20–22 reveal Christ as the cornerstone
    • Every person has a cornerstone—something their life is built around

✨ The true purpose of Christ’s coming

    • Not to give temporary relief, but eternal salvation
    • To deliver us from the penalty of sin (Romans 3:23)
    • To become the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6)
    • To come again for those whose lives are aligned with Him (Hebrews 9:27–28)

    ✨ A call to reflection

    • As Mary pondered, we’re invited to ponder too.
    • As Christmas approaches, this episode encourages you to slow down and ask:
    • What is the true cornerstone of my life?
    • What is my heart fixed on this season?
    • Am I aligning my life with the truth of Christ or the distractions around me?

  • From Regret to Redemption: Releasing the "If Onlys"

From Regret to Redemption: Releasing the "If Onlys"

In today’s powerful episode, Kristin dives into the trap of “if only” thoughts—the mental loops that often lead to regret, shame, sadness, and self-hatred. Whether it sounds like “If only I had made a different choice…” or “If only I weren’t so __…”, these thoughts attack the very core of who we are and who God says He is. Kristin explains how the enemy uses these thoughts to distort your perspective, challenge God’s goodness, and lure you into believing that your past disqualifies you from God’s plans.

Drawing from relatable personal experiences and biblical examples—including Martha’s grief in John 11 and Jeremiah’s honest anguish—Kristin shows that these struggles are not new and that even spiritual giants faced them. Yet, God consistently responds with compassion, truth, and redemption.

    Kristin walks listeners through:

    • Why “if only” thoughts are spiritually dangerous
    • The difference between regret that leads to repentance and regret that leads to bondage
    • How fantasizing about alternate outcomes distorts God’s sovereignty
    • Why surrendering your past requires bold trust in God’s character
    • How gratitude and intentional remembrance strengthen your faith

You’ll be reminded that God is fully in control of your past, present, and future—and nothing you’ve done can overturn His good plans for your life (Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28). Because He is eternal, He still has access to the places where you feel stuck. When you surrender your regrets to Him, He redeems them—turning your “if onlys” into testimonies of grace.

Kristin closes the episode by grounding listeners in Psalm 77:11–15, urging them to remember God’s faithfulness and step into the abundant life Jesus came to give (John 10:10).

  • From "What If" to "Even If": Breaking Free from Fear-Based Thinking

From "What If" to "Even If": Breaking Free from Fear-Based Thinking

This week, Kristin dives deep into one of the most relentless mental battles Christians face: the fear-fueled “what-if” thoughts that spiral into overthinking, anxiety, and attempts to control every outcome. These thought patterns may feel protective or “cautious,” but Scripture tells us clearly—fear is not from God.

In this honest and Scripture-rich conversation, Kristin explores how “what-if” thinking exposes hidden beliefs about control, validation, and self-reliance. Whether we fear disappointing others, making the wrong decision, or losing something precious, our minds can quickly become a battleground where the enemy plants doubt, confusion, and worry.

Kristin walks through a practical, transformative approach to handling these thoughts:

Recognize the “what-if” without entertaining it

Bring it into the Light by talking honestly with the Lord

Ask hard questions about trust, control, and fear

Surrender the outcome to God’s character

Reframe the fear into a truth-filled “even if” statement rooted in Scripture

You’ll hear real examples, heartfelt reflection, and powerful biblical reminders like 2 Timothy 1:7, Hebrews 11:1, and 1 Peter 5:6–7. This episode gently but clearly reminds us that worry is not a harmless habit—it's a trust issue. Yet God invites us into freedom, peace, and joy as we release the outcomes we cannot control.

By the end, you’ll feel encouraged, equipped, and renewed in your faith—ready to step out of anxiety and into deeper confidence in God’s goodness.
