Shayna Minder is the children's director at Springfield Faith Center and has a passion to see kids know and experience the love of Jesus. She is an amazing woman, director, wife, and mother. Our families are good friends and it is a joy to see God work through her in our church. Join us as she shares part of her journey and her passion for children's ministry.
My good friend Tina Weiss has persued ministry as a career for a long time and has been involved in well-known ministries. Today though she is not on the main stage of the church, she is in the lives of people around her in her job. Tina loves people, and she taught me a lot about how to love people well and love people as Jesus loves them. In this episode, she shares with us her journey and how God has used what she has learned from ministry to minister to those in her job. Just because you are in a more corporate job does not mean that Jesus is not using you in the lives of those around you, and Tina exemplifies this so well. She really is tweiss_as_nice!
There are a lot of people that do ministry, and there are a lot of couples than both do ministry. I have some good friends who both work and volunteer at our church, Springfield Faith Center. Shayna Minder is our children's director, and Dustin Minder volunteers with our youth. They join me to share some stories and talk about their experience in ministry.
No don't worry, we aren't talking bad about our neighbors. In fact, it's quite the opposite. My brother, Daniel Weed, and I have had a lot of experience living across the street from a lot of different people, in a lot of different cultures. We have been blessed by them, and love getting to know people. In this episode, we talk together about our different experiences and how being in ministry, and missionary kids have affected our perspective on our neighbors.
The Shermans are some friends that I haven't talked to in a long time, in fact, Aaron and I have never met in person. I really love their story and their passion for kids with special needs. They join me on the show to talk about life in ministry, and what that can look like when you have kids with special needs. They also do a great job introducing good ways to interact with families that might have a kid with special needs. They are just a great couple. Join us to hear more about them, their family, and yeah they do a podcast as well. "Not your normal life"
Carlos Whittaker is one of my favorite bloggers, social media presences, and authors. He has been dealing hope to people for a long time, and now he writes books and talks about them. If you haven't had a chance to read Enter Wild, check it out today. I had the joy of talking to Carlos about his life in ministry, his Instagram community, and most importantly about what God has done in his life.
Pastor Matt Ramirez is a very good and old friend. We have done ministry in the past together, and man that was a long time ago. Pastor Matt has grown from the early days of his ministry where he really experienced the power of the holy spirit. He has always had a passion for evangelism and has had experience as a senior pastor. He did learn though that being a senior pastor isn't what God was calling him to do. Join us as we hear more of pastor Matt's story. I hope you are encouraged by this wonderful man of God. Check him out on Youtube, and Facebook. If you want a speaker with the power of the Holy Spirit, by all means, please invite him to your church.
This week I have another one of my friends join me on the show. Pastor Tony Scarcello is the youth pastor at my church Springfield Faith Center. I really enjoy laughing with this guy, he's a great speaker and has also just finished writing his first book. In this episode, we talk about how there is no manual for kids and listen to pastor Tony share his heart on ministry. He doesn't hold back to be ready. Check it out here on Ministry IRL.
Words are important! This week on Ministry IRL we talk about language and how important it is how we communicate with each other. When it comes to ministry there are a lot of outdated words that we use, but still hold a lot of important meaning to what we believe. Talking to other generations, or even other cultures can be really difficult. Let's talk about how not only are words important, but we need to communicate well in order to represent Jesus well.
This week on Ministry IRL we talk about dads, specifically my dad. I grew up as a pastor’s kid as well as a missionary kid. It wasn’t always great, but the things God did through my dad were impactful. Check him out here: John Weed
