The man, who has not yet been officially identified, was fatally shot by a police officer in the parking lot of a gas station in Austin on Thursday night, after he left his home following a lengthy standoff. Family members and community activists are disputing the official account of the shooting.

Seven members of an immigrant family from Honduras whose bodies were found inside a Moorhead, Minn., home last weekend died of carbon monoxide poisoning, authorities said Wednesday.

Relatives of the family discovered the victims Saturday night in a home in south Moorhead when they went to check on them after not hearing from them. Neighbors said the children were last seen Friday.

The National Weather Service has confirmed an E-F-2 tornado with winds up to 115 miles per hour caused major damage to buildings in the community of Hartland this week.
