    The Reward of Wisdom

Living according to wisdom guides us and is visible to others

“Ornament of grace unto thy head” represents honor, dignity, and victory

“Chains about thy neck” represents distinction, authority, and wealth

    The Danger of Bad Company

Proverbs warns us about the enticement of sinners

    Command: “Consent thou not”

Don’t allow the pressure of belonging to cause you to do what you know is wrong

Your fear of the Lord must be greater than the fear of being left out

    Don’t Take the Bait

    Sinners promised potential (vs 13-14)

Sin always wraps destruction in the prettiest packages

Wisdom refrains your foot from the path (vs 15)

Easier to refrain your foot when you’re already walking with God

    Wisdoms invitation

Wisdom cries in the streets (vs 20)

Wisdom calls to all, even the simple, scorners, and fools (vs 22)

Those who turn at God’s reproof will receive wisdom and discernment concerning His Word (vs 23)

    The Consequences & Promise

Rejected wisdom eventually leads to irreversible consequences. You suffer what you didn’t have to (vs 24-32)

The root of their rejection was that they “did not choose the fear of the Lord” (vs 29)

Live according to God’s wisdom and you “shall dwell safely and shall be quiet from the fear of evil” (vs 33)

  • The Christlike Mind, Phil 2:5-8, Humility

Humility, how rare it is today. In Philippians 2:5–8, we see Jesus, who deserved all honor and glory, “made himself of no reputation” and willingly took the position of a servant. What does His example teach us about serving without recognition, approval, or applause? It shows us how a secure identity leads to humble, selfless service to others.

  • The Christlike Mind, Phil 2:5-8

As we continue our series, “The Mind of Christ,” from Philippians 2. We look at what it means to have a mind of selfless surrender, following Christ’s example of humility, obedience, and service. As we surrender our will to God and depend on His Spirit, we can look beyond ourselves and serve others as Christ served us.

  • Teen Service, In a Pit with a Lion in a Time of Snow, A Fierce Enemy. 2 Samuel 23:20

    Recorded Live, September 27, 2026

    Notes:

The Reality of the Lion - He’s real, seeks opportunities, and wants to make you ineffective

The Roar of the Lion - He uses confusion and lies, put the truth in his face and he will flee! Don’t let the roar of the enemy drown out the truth of God

The Response to the Lion - “Slew” Resist the devil (I Pet. 5:9)

Stand in God’s strength (Eph. 6:10-11) Fight by walking with God daily

Faith in God is not the absence of danger or fear. It is deciding that my obedience to God is worth more to me than what scares me. Fighting the lion in public begins with walking with God in private

    Notes:

    Recorded Live, 09/27/2026

    What is Biblical Wisdom?

    • Biblical wisdom is more than knowing what God says; it’s living it out
    • Knowlege is the collection of facts; wisdom is the right use of what we know
    • Wisdom asks, “How should I live based on what God says?”

    The Purpose of Proverbs

    • Know & Understand, Prov. 1:2
    • Learn & Discern, Prov. 1:3
    • Prepare & Guide, Prov. 1:4
    • Grow & Listen, Prov. 1:5
    • Understand, Prov. 1:6

    Where Wisdom Begins

    • The fear of the Lord is the beginning (foundation)
    • It is not simply being afraid of God, but having deep reverence for Him
    • God sees what I can’t see, and understands what I don’t

    The Fear of the Lord

    • The Fear of the Lord acknowledges God as the final authority
    • A Wise person remains teachable to God’s instruction

Wise people include God’s wisdom in their decisons

    Which Path am I Walking?

    • A wise person receive God’s instruction; a fool despises it
    • Wisdom doesn’t just know what God says; wisdom fears God enough to follow it

    Which path am I walking?

  • The Christlike Mind, Phil 2:1-4

Today we begin a new series through Philippians 2 focusing on Christ as our pattern for serving others. We’re reminded that true Christian unity comes through humility, selflessness, and looking beyond our own concerns to the needs of others. As we consider Christ’s example, we’re challenged to live with an “others” mindset and let the mind of Christ shape the way we serve, love, and walk together
