What in my life reflects Him?
Does my obedience reflect Christ who became obedient for me?
Obedience Surrenders- vs 5
Before obedience becomes an action, it begins with a surrendered mind.
Obedience Serves- vs 6-7
Christ made Himself of no reputation. The One worthy of it all became a servant to all and so should we.
Obedience Sacrifices- vs 8
Christlike obedience looks on others before self.
Obedience is Supremely Honored- vs 9-11
Our obedience to Him is in response to Him becoming obedient for us.
God is working long before we ever see the evidence. In 2 Corinthians 4:13–15, Paul reminds us that our confidence isn’t found in our circumstances, but in the God who raises the dead. The cracks, pressure, and difficulties of life don’t make us useless. They’re the very places where Christ, the treasure, shines through us. Even a cracked vessel can still believe, still speak, still serve, and still point others to Him.

The Journey to the Destination
We all want the “Now I see” moment of Job 42:5
To get there we must walk by faith through the journey of Job 23
An Example of Faith
Job was living righteous before the trial ever came
Perfect and upright, feared God, eschewed evil, greatest of all men of the east
Suffering is not always a punishment for sin
When you can’t see, living in Job 23
Where God is leading, “forward, but he is not there;”
Understand what God has done, “backward, but I cannot perceive him:”
What or How God is working, “on the left and right hand, but cannot behold or see him.”
Keep Seeking
Faith truly begins where our ability to see clearly ends
Job couldn’t see God, but kept moving confident that God could still see him
When I can’t understand God’s ways, I can trust God’s Word (Job 23:12) I can run to Him (Prov. 18:10)
“Now mine eye seeth thee”
Only after I’m tried (Job 23:10) can I come to a place where I fully see (Job 42:5)
When I don’t understand what God is doing, or even find where God is… I can trust who He is and the plan that He’s working! One day I will fully see!
We often fall into the trap of thinking that our struggles mean that God has abandoned us. In 2 Corinthians 4:10-12, Paul reminds us that our weakness do not diminish the shine of the treasure within us, it actually further accentuates it! We may be cracked and pressed, but we are never crushed. The treasure is Christ, and even our struggles can become a mighty witness of His power.

David’s Mighty Men- 1 Sam 22
We get to serve the King!
The Pit
Any place you get where the odds are stacked against you
Don’t Misunderstand the Pit
Display His Power (2 Cor. 12:9)
Benaiah
Has life ever pushed you down? This is the reality for the earthen vessel. We’re not strong enough to keep ourselves upright when the battles of life come our way. But thank God when we get cast down the everlasting arms are underneath us! You will get cast down but you’re not destroyed!
Even when we face opposition, rejection, pressure, or feel like we’re standing alone, God has not abandoned us. Jesus was forsaken on Calvary so that those who belong to Him would never be forsaken. Whatever you’re facing today, remember: you may be persecuted, but you are not forsaken.
