Your limiting beliefs have shaped everything that you do. You have to get rid of them in order to rise up to the next level. In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about overcoming limiting beliefs in under ten minutes.
Part One of ‘Overcome Limiting Beliefs in Under Ten Minutes’
Do you sometimes feel like you're trapped in a cage? These are profound questions to ask. What are you doing in there? Then you realize that the front door is actually open, but you never even thought of checking.
You see that it's been open this whole time. What happens next? You keep running in circles. You keep listening to the voices that are in your head and making decisions based on your limiting beliefs.
“There are many practices that one can learn to overcome limiting beliefs.” – Rae Irelan (04:22-04:28)
Your limiting beliefs hinder you from being the best version of yourself. They stop you from being in a place of integrity, congruence, love, and unity. They keep you playing small. Get started by being clear on what a limiting belief is. It's best if you can boil it down to one sentence.
Limiting beliefs are usually something that you've been dealing with your whole life. They could be holding you back for some time. If not your entire life. These could even be deeply felt ancestral beliefs.
The first area that you can look at is your body. You want to be able to be physical. You can get active. Release limiting beliefs stored in your physical body. Go for a run. Take a dance or a yoga class. Go for a walk. Hit the gym. Go out surfing. Go for whatever gets your body moving and your blood pumping.
You'll start to feel the physical shifts happen. When you bring the intentional release of limiting beliefs into that picture, it can be powerful. When you're in this state being very physical while in the middle of the exercise, you can release your limiting beliefs.
Part Two of ‘Overcome Limiting Beliefs in Under Ten Minutes’
Make a journal about limiting beliefs that stick in your mind. Allow your mind to wander, to understand it. Look at it from different angles. Write it out. It's that outward expression of what you're internally going through. What you're shifting. Circle the limiting belief. Allow words to fall onto the paper.
“Either settle for short fixes or sustainable changes.” – Rae Irelan (04:33-04:38)
Pursue what brings you into a spiritual state. Sitting in meditation. Enjoy nature. It's vital to know that you're not just trying to get rid of them. We're giving those limiting beliefs a voice. Recognizing our ultimate power as the creators of our life. It's all up to you. It all depends on how you want to live.

Defining Success Beyond Profit -What Lights You Up Inside?
“There are different ways that we can be striving for success in our lives.”Rae Irelan
Do you feel like you're continually searching for holistic success and the feeling of being fulfilled? And no matter what level of progress, you still desire for more. The truth is that every person in this world defines success differently. But sometimes it all boils down to what lights you up. In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about defining success beyond profit.
Part One of ‘Defining Success Beyond Profit [What Lights You Up Inside?]’
There are different ways that we can look at success and define success, and also different ways that we can be striving for success in our lives. To see it from a healthy perspective, you must have that inner drive and focus. Maybe you've had a lot of experiences where you were able to hit high numbers, achieving your career goals, and you've accomplished your goals in general, but you still feel like the same person you were yesterday like nothing changed. It's not always about getting the quantity. It's also about quality.
“Connecting to what lights you up is a great starting point for your adult self to begin to remember your bliss.” - Rae Irelan (08:16-08:23)
A lot of times, you can get so excited about the results that you're creating. But the bigger question is, what are the results you're creating for other people? Similar to food if you're hungry, you eat what's right in front of you, even if it doesn't guarantee that you will be delighted. The funny thing is sometimes you will eat a bag of chips, and then realize that you actually want a full meal of protein, veggies, and carbs. And so, you're left feeling unsatisfied. It's just like success. You want to find something that can be soul-fulfilling. And in each moment, you are growing, shifting, and changing.
Start with an awareness of what you are truly wanting and needing. It's imperative to differentiate these two in this step. What is necessary for you to be living right now, and what is your desire that would make life more juicy, fun, and playful? It's great to take extra time before going after something that isn't genuinely aligned without questioning it. Take time in this process to understand where you sit, and then you'll be able to make informed decisions from there.
Part Two of ‘Defining Success Beyond Profit [What Lights You Up Inside?]
Take aligned and inspired action. And that's where you get to do that thing that you want to do. And that is really what's going to create the most success in your life, in the most holistic success. That's where you come back to your bliss. You're of service in a way that is great for others and yourself. Once you understand the basics, you see that success is the sandwich between what lights you up and bliss is on both sides of it. If you can do this in every area of your life, you'll achieve greater success in a way that is personally, professionally, and financially fulfilling.
“You want to find something that can be soul-fulfilling.” - Rae Irelan (05:43-05:47)
Every person is guilty of defining success, depending on the amount of money they have at some point in their life. But what are you willing to exchange for that success? How can you get into this place where you're living with a fulfilling soul? And that's a good starting point for success. It's crucial to connect with what lights you up. This way, you are becoming more aware and understanding while being in an empowered state. When you are lit up, then you can make decisions based on what is truly going to be of service. When you're a kid, what used to light you up? Was it reading a good book? Was it riding your bike through the neighborhood? Was it playing games? Was it drawing? This is a great starting point for your adult self to begin to remember your bliss and how to tap into that.

Healing with Art
“Humans should take full responsibility for their limitless creativity.” -Rae Irelan
Want to know one a natural, successful way to heal? One that’s based off on science and history? It’s art. There are many forms of healing such as physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. You name it.
Our whole world is created from art, so we're utilizing our energy. It's what we do, whether we want to take responsibility for what we're creating or not. Why wouldn't all humans want to take responsibility for their limitless creativity? In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about healing with art.
Part One of ‘Healing with Art’
If you take a hundred percent responsibility for your creativity, it also means letting go of always being right, let go of any resentment or blame. You have to take responsibility for creating all the positive things that you see in the world. But also, creating the more negative things that you see in the world.
Most people wait until their deathbed to get to that place of ownership, but the big question is, do we need to wait so long to take responsibility, and has that been working out so far?
The world is desperate for a change, and we see this happening everywhere. There's a new wave of personal development and healing. Global growth is coming into a more harmonious state of peace. So, how does that happen? Take responsibility for your personal development, your healing, and then you can see a change outside of the world.
Many factors overpower our ability to take responsibility, but we do have the choice to change. This is the opportunity that we are presented with today. We have so many resources and tools to be able to heal.
“Storytelling is another form of art.” – Rae Irelan (06:52-06:55)
Many people find peace within specific communities, countries, or organizations. People fall in love with things like music, therapy, painting, writing, dancing, and traveling. They see these things as a form of art that helps create healing.
People want to heal. They desire to have a more profound connection to the world. What's so beautiful about art is that people get to make real what they wish to express. Through these forms of creativity, you are tapping into emotions that might have been subconsciously running your entire life without you knowing it.
You can find tons of information online to go through this journey alone. However, it's been proven that the best way to use art as healing is to do it with other people. Maybe that's one other person, someone that's guiding you. Maybe someone that's side-by-side with you or a group of people. Perhaps you're in a program.
When you have other people going through healing modalities and these arts with you, you see new perspectives. When you're doing it with other people, you might notice that other people were told slightly different things.
All of a sudden, their guidelines look a little bit different, and it opens up the possibility that there might be actually another way to do this and maybe even a way that is more aligned with you.
We're so caught up in our perspective of what works and what doesn't work, what we've been told to do and not to do. Many times, our expression has been contained. It's been held in. We were told as little boys and girls, not to cry or don't scream if you're angry, just shut up
Part Two of ‘Healing with Art’
It can be very intense when you are opening yourself up into expressing yourself through art. Some things might surface that you would have never thought of. They could be old memories that you've forgotten about or feelings that you just didn't want to feel. Maybe they feel ungrounded or unsafe.
When you have someone there, they can also help support you in staying with it. That way you can discover the end of this tunnel. You'll be able to see and notice that there's a specific lesson for you to extract, to bring into your life, and to inspire others with, from just you embodying this lesson.
“It's time for us to come together to create the most epic art that this planet has ever seen.” – Rae Irelan (14:52-15:00)
Don't let anyone tell you that you're not good enough or your art is a waste of time. You're using art for healing. It can be terrifying yet the reward is so great. Take the negative words out of your mind, allow the process to work. Create a safe space for you to do the healing. Maybe you want to try writing, dancing, singing or acting. Whatever that creative pursuit is, try it out. Challenge yourself and see what is possible. Go for it and give yourself that time to play.
We are all creatives artists. It's time for us to come together to create the most epic art that this planet has ever seen. That piece of art, first and foremost, is the most exquisite version of yourself as a human. We are our own body of art. As you pursue healing development, you are turning yourself into the most beautiful, magnificent piece of artwork.
Everything that you touch, you speak, you write is just an unfolding of your expression. Try it out this week and maybe do something that feels a little bit uncomfortable. Just dive in and have fun while you're doing it as well.

A quantum field is a place where everything exists, including your words, thoughts, and actions. This is often referred to as the universe. And when you're using the law of attraction, you are intentionally casting out desires, beliefs, dreams, being able to align to that which you desire. The law of attraction is one of the most empowering practices of life. In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about scaling your business using the law of attraction, together with her special guest, Jolie Dawn.
Part One of ‘Scaling Your Business Using the Law of Attraction with Jolie Dawn’
Jolie Dawn is a speaker, intuitive business coach, and the bestselling author of "Empowered, Sexy and Free" and "The Spiritual Journey of Entrepreneurship." “The biggest threat and roadblock to your success is your limited belief.” – Rae Irelan (10:21-10:45)
When things aren't working for you, you've got to take into consideration that every single person has to go through their spiritual initiation when they're choosing entrepreneurship or anything. You can't always predict the timing of things. You have to be patient in your journey, and sometimes you have to take a longer route than other people because that's the exact journey that your soul signed up for. What you can do and what you can have control of is your belief system, what you believe to be possible for you in the vibration that you hold every single day, even if it takes you ten years to have your first successful launch.
When you doubt yourself, rushing it, and forcing it, it's a miserable way to go into it. You can't force the law of attraction. The only thing that you can do is to trust yourself and to be in your alignment. We're talking about being in the highest frequency alignment so you can attract the things that you want. So, you can work the manifestation field and feel this magic and miracle, but you've got to honor your own unique soul's timing and divine timing and be patient in the process.
Part Two of ‘Scaling Your Business Using the Law of Attraction with Jolie Dawn’
You can have anything you put your mind into. The only thing that stops us, the only demon we have to slay, and this whole reality is ourselves. That is our biggest threat. Those are our biggest obstacle and our biggest roadblock. It's not the market, it's not how crowded Facebook ads are. It's not the algorithm, the robust algorithm of Instagram. It is you and your belief in what's possible. If you can hold the field of possibility to see what you want and be able to expand your field, to believe that it's possible for you, that is so much easier said than done.
“The law of attraction impacts both the sales conversation and conversion.” – Rae Irelan (23:35-23:40)
We're all here for such a short amount of time. It's like on the whole scale of human history. We're here for just the tiny speck on the timeline. And this is your opportunity right now to build your legacy, to play full out because you have nothing to lose fear. Mental fear is very convincing. Fear is an incredibly genius salesperson that will convince you to stay safe, stay small, don't move to a new friend circle, don't leave your city, or don't try that business. What if it never works for you? Doubt and fear are meant to keep you alive, but your free will in your choice has dominion over fear. The mind needs mental parameters to understand where you're going. It's like the basics of goal setting and understanding your numbers. If you want to be a business person, you've got to know your numbers, where you are now, where you want to go, and what is that gap to get to that place? Having a yearly goal is a simple place to start. And when you're scaling your business, energy is everything. You can feel when a little bit of energy is off. When you can come from this truly authentic place, it opens the door for the client to go to a genuinely authentic place with you. If you're going to a sales call, make sure that you have everything prepared energetically because it impacts your revenue and your prosperity.

Are you struggling with your success story? Here's the truth: if you want to be highly successful, you need to be highly disciplined. We live in a world full of people who always have more capabilities despite our uniqueness. The million-dollar question is: what sets you apart from the rest of the big dreamers out there striving for success? Let's find out! In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about the morning habits of successful people.
Part One of ‘Morning Habits of Successful People’
It's not about how fast you are. What is the quality at which you're moving? As you develop the kind of mindset where you value progress over speed, everything becomes more about the current race itself instead of the finish line. Everybody wants to be at the finish line. We tend to lose sight of their journey.
We all go through different seasons in life. This makes the preparation a critical focus. It needs to be heavily addressed. Every struggle you encounter teaches you a lot of things and then it molds you to become a successful person who's ready to serve the world.
“You need to align your daily routines to the kind of lifestyle that you want to create.” – Rae Irelan (06:27-06:58)
If you're a performer, the last thing that you want to happen is to mess up during the actual event. That's why rehearsals are required to work on the quality of the performance. Every successful concert out there that you see on television turned out good because of the hard work behind the scenes. And it's the same thing with successful people; they do some things consistently in to turn their dreams into a reality.
As you evaluate your morning habits, you get to notice the patterns that aren't helpful for you to succeed, and it's up to you to change them.
Preparation opens up more space for you to understand what you want in life and what you thought you wanted. Sometimes you can get into places where you realize that you don't like what you've set up and created. Success is about developing sustainable and consistent practices, so you can be prepared as best as you can for your everyday life.
Part Two of ‘Morning Habits of Successful People’
You may consider morning habits like meditation, mantra, music, and movement. Deep meditation empties your mind, body, and connects you to something greater than yourself. Mantra works like power affirmations depending on your spiritual practices. You can choose three to five mantras that you can with for a few months or a year. Whatever feels new, fresh, and exciting.
You can speak them out loud even if you don't feel like it, to get back into that energy of really owning the truth behind the mantra. You don't just speak the words, but you let it sink into your heart. You can see how these things work for you, and if you have something else that works for you, go for it.
“Results or excuses. You choose.” – Rae Irelan
Another morning habit you can try is to put on some fun music to jump-start the day. You can listen to a piece of certain music while brushing your teeth or putting your clothes on. Now for the movement, some people choose to attend a yoga or dance class or do some workouts. Any physical movement to wake up your body and get it ready for the day. That helps move the blood and bring oxygen to your brain. You're able to be working at a much higher level and be able to produce better results when you have that physical body awake as well.
It's also relaxing to have a journal where you can write down your bucket list. It could be a free writing style where you want to write whatever comes into your mind. For other people, it could be a calendar or planner. Lastly, you can also try to drink lemon water every morning. Remember, these small things can teach you how to be consistent. The key to success is consistency, so whatever works for you, be sure you're realistic. Set routines that will help you achieve the life that you've always wanted.

Being Grateful for What You Have
“Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions.” -Rae Irelan
If you're struggling to be consistent when it comes to gratitude, you're not alone. Certain personality factors can act as barriers to gratitude. Nevertheless, no matter how unfortunate our circumstances may be, we can always choose to be grateful. In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about being thankful for what you have.
Part One of ‘Being Grateful for What You Have’
Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more you will have to express gratitude. Gratitude is the highest frequency that you can experience as a human, and sometimes it feels like one million bucks. It could be one of your favorites, but the most challenging tool to acquire.
“There are many ways to bring more gratitude into your life.” – Rae Irelan
How do you feel gratitude throughout every day? The hardest time to remember the practice of gratitude is usually when you're feeling low, frustrated, suffering, angry, or sad. At the same time, this is when practicing gratitude is essential. When you're going through tough times, it isn't very easy to feel that vibration of gratitude and to come into a new state of being. We can't control everything that's happening around us or identify in advance how intense they're going to be. But don't lose hope because there are certain things you need to put into practice daily, so you can develop that gratitude attitude.
Part Two of ‘Being Grateful for What You Have’
Consider creating a gratitude list. You use a journal, you can do it on a mirror, and you can create gratitude lists on sticky notes that you end up posting around your home to remind you of all that you're grateful for. The gratitude list comprises the things that you are thankful for in your life.
This can be anything that you're thankful for. You can start appreciating the small stuff that you have, such as your loved ones, the items that you love, having enough oxygen to breathe, water to drink, clothes to wear, being surrounded by good people, or simply being alive. You have to practice being grateful both for the small and big things in life.
“Make a list of all the things you’re grateful for.” – Rae Irelan
Whatever's out there, experience it, feel it, and tap into that gratitude for what we do have on this planet. It's so abundant. If you're feeling super ambitious, see if you can do the gratitude practice every day for 30 days. They say it takes 30 days to create a change, to create a new pattern. See what is possible when you really implement gratitude into your life. It's a little bit harder with all the distractions around us.

How to Build an Online Community with Tanya Lynn
“Community is about building relationships.” Tanya Lynn
Building an active community is about creating something together. It’s sharing knowledge and contributing to a common goal. Its everywhere in society. Take your neighborhoods, towns, businesses, and churches. In this week's episode, Rae Irelan and her special guest Tanya Lynn talk about how you can build an online community.
Part One of ‘How to Build an Online Community with Tanya Lynn’
People build an online community for different reasons. They could want human connection. They could want to be part of something greater. Whether about creating a local or virtual community, the same principles apply. It's more fulfilling when things are done together. It's one reason why we want a life partner. We don't have to face life alone. That's what brings us joy, happiness, and keeps us alive. When we're alone, we feel lonely. That's why we need a community. We need that connection.
“Technology encourage broader community participation.” – Rae Irelan (10:23-10:31)
Nowadays, you have the technology to connect with almost anyone in the world. One of the best parts about building an online community is meeting them in person. It's an incredible feeling when you get to hang out in the same room and transform each other's life. Even if it's online, it can still be considered as a community. It's all about the relationships.
There are many tools that can be used for video conference purposes. You could get on a call and interact with others as if they were in the same room. When building an online community, be ready to respond and evolve. Always look at what needs to be adjusted. You need to be receiving feedback. It helps to listen to what the people are saying.
Part Two of ‘How to Build an Online Community with Tanya Lynn’
How are you going to inspire and empower people to stay in the community? Be passionate about the vision, the end goal, and the purpose. Remind everyone to do the same. People get disconnected when they forget why they're doing something.
“Always focus on your vision.” – Tanya Lynn (18:21-18:31)
If you're interested in building a community, start initiating conversations. Find out what they want and need. You don't have to have all the answers. When someone leaves the community, don't take it personally. Just stay true to yourself.
Keep finding that balance between responding to needs and staying in alignment with your truth. Some people might create drama. We think that we need to make them happy. The critical part is learning how to value the entire community.

Give Yourself Permission to Live A Big Life
What do you think of when you hear about a great life? Luxury? Importance, value, impact? When we're talking about the big picture, its about adventure, love, an open heart, an open mind, full expression, freedom, peace, fear, joy, despair, and all of it. In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about permitting yourself to live a great life.
Part One of ‘Give Yourself Permission to Live A Big Life’
Permission means consent or authorization. Big means considerable importance, size, extent, or intensity. I ask you to open your mind and heart to open your spirit to receiving a message around something more. So, a new reality where you choose what your great life looks like.
We all have different ideas of what a big life is. Who do you associate with having a big life? Some minds go to the rich uncle that has ten cars, the overindulgent spender, a spoiled child. This isn’t that. When we're thinking of a big life, perhaps there are others on that list that might be your life superheroes. Mine are Oprah, Beyoncé, Tony Robbins, and many more. What are they demonstrating? They're expressing how they experience life and what they're giving to life. Not just what they're taking. There's a lot of abundance. But they're giving back, which is so cool.
There's a confusion that can come with living your big life. When we hear about this great life, most of us experience a mixed bag of emotions. We aren't able to sort out our feelings because there's no clear example we can follow. But there are sorts of cases. Some that might inspire, and some that might leave a terrible taste in your mouth.
No one is here to tell you what to be, what to do, and who to be.
I have friends whose great life looks like living on a beautiful collective farm. Others want a shack by the beach or a mansion on a hill. Others a high rise in a city. Very different lives, right? What do you want? Who do you want to be? What does your big life look like? We can start this process with you. Give yourself permission to dream and to dream bigger. When I say imagine bigger, let your heart align with your truth. What does your vision look like? What does it feel like? What does it taste like? What does it smell like?
Part Two of ‘Give Yourself Permission to Live A Big Life’
Open all of your senses up to a higher possibility of alignment. Sometimes we need people to permit us. I know I did for a long time either from my parents, teachers, best friend, brother, my boyfriend, or maybe a mentor that I had in my life. I would ask them what they think about specific ideas. I would ask them what they think about my outfit, about a particular meal, the list goes on and on. Many times, I would get excited about what they said, and follow along.
“Don’t let your fear be in the driver’s seat of your life.” – Rae Irelan (08:09-08:20)
We can get us into sticky situations and codependent relationships. Start to think about who you are getting your advice from. I loved all the people that I was getting my advice from. I deeply respected them. But when it came down to knowing what a great life should be, no one could tell me a direction for my life or what my truth looked like. That was for me to discover and decide upon. Since I didn't know how to do that for myself, I didn't know how to give myself permission. A mentor of mine told me: you have full permission right now to do what you want. No matter what anyone else says.
You can live the most aligned life possible. You have full permission to create this for yourself. Go for it and have fun. How does that feel? A lot of times, there's self-sabotage that comes up immediately. “I can't, I won't.” Ignore that. Think this: I know you have valuable information for me, but right now, I don't want to hear this. I'm going towards my dreams. I'm doing what I want to do. I'm living my fabulous life.
I tend to bring my fears along because they're a valid and essential part of myself, my message, and my being. But I don't need them to be in the driver's seat. I will be in the passenger seat. You start to take ownership, not control. Write this permission slip on a piece of paper for yourself. Write yourself a permission slip and put it in your wallet. Put it around your house, put it on your doors, on your mirror so that way you can remind yourself regularly of the permission that you are granting yourself. It is entirely yours. It's something that I practice daily. Being a natural people pleaser, I've discovered that the more that I can remind myself that I have full permission, the more my imagination starts to work.
In the process of giving yourself full permission to live a great life, you've got to let go of those expectations. Let go of control. Let go of thinking that you know what it looks like because you don't. No one knows. Not even your mentor, not even your best friend, and not even your parents. So let go of that control and continue to focus. Continue to vision on that dream and experience that fulfillment of waking up and being excited to live your utterly perfect life. It doesn't have to be this crazy luxurious life, but it can be perfect for you.
What does it look like to dream bigger, to grow more than you ever allowed yourself to be? What does your big life look like? Have you given yourself full permission yet? Maybe we’re a few steps closer after listening to this. You're on your way. You've got this.

Channeling the inner goddess is the very beginning of my journey into stepping into personal development to becoming a coach and to building my business. In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about how you can channel your inner goddess.
Part One of ‘How to Channel Your Inner Goddess’
From a young age, I thought about how I could develop myself into understanding and learning about the different goddesses from different countries around the world. I wanted to learn about what their stories were. What was the power that they were holding into? Something that we could also cultivate and use in our own lives.
“I learned about these different goddesses and the energies that they held.” – Rae Irelan (03:49-03:54)
As I got older, I noticed how much I started to use the goddess energy in my life. They weren't all just like angelic and came down to look beautiful. Many goddesses have different strengths and qualities that helped them not only survive but thrive in their worlds. And a lot of times, this was in my performing. If I'm a goddess that's standing on stage singing a song then, what does that story sound like that I'm sharing with my audience? I want to share this with you all because not everyone wants to become a coach, and maybe you have another job. You can also use this information in your career and in your relationships to start to add this new sense of play like the stories of the goddesses that I read about from a young age. As I went into this, I started to understand and learn about different parts of myself. There are so many different levels, layers, and facets to goddesses that you have a full range of humans living on this planet.
The real power behind goddess energy doesn't all look like fairies, rainbows, and butterflies, but can be quite destructive, almost as devastating as a hurricane or a wildfire.
I started to connect to a different idea and the presence of what power can be. And as I did this, I began to accept all the different parts of myself because there was this desire to be beautiful, smart, and successful. I didn't want to deal with any of the other stuff.
Part Two of ‘How to Channel Your Inner Goddess’
Maybe you can relate to me on that. It's like why can't everything be easy and beautiful? Well, it's life. It's human life. And the cool part is, is that you can develop a beautiful relationship with some of these other parts of yourself that might be more destructive, fierce or aggressive.
“Sometimes women struggle using their voice in a powerful way.” – Rae Irelan (16:25-16:30)
But the question comes down to how are you using those qualities to not only better your own life, but better the lives of those around you. Sometimes we can feel uncomfortable. Maybe you feel uncomfortable being super intense and direct. Perhaps the edge is that you feel uncomfortable being soft, vulnerable, and submissive. You can call in these goddesses to help you move forward with whatever challenge you're dealing with. You can play around with the goddesses and the archetypes to inspire how you dress, how you set up your environments, how you relate to your loved ones or strangers, and how you also design your business.

Building Business Relationships That Are Aligned with Robert McGuinness
In this week's episode, Rae Irelan talks about building business relationships that are aligned with Robert McGuinness as her guest, CEO of Sole Venture LLC. It is a company that helps corporate professionals navigate their journey out of their career and into their calling without sacrificing their current family or financial needs.
Part One of ‘Building Business Relationships That Are Aligned’
Robert shares how he has guided people out of their corporate jobs into their soul calling. "My whole life, I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I grew up having two opposite ends of my family. My father's side was very religious, and my mother's side was first-generation from Jordan in the Middle East. Almost all my uncles who got married to my mom's sisters were all entrepreneurs. I spent a lot of time around these people until I got influenced and have envisioned myself to be an entrepreneur one day. In the past, I went into business for the wrong reasons. It wasn't really from a place of service. I had lost a lot of money, so I came to the point where I had to support myself. I know I'm meant to do something greater, but I did it the wrong way. I ended up getting a job in New York related to technology sales. I did well, but whenever I would come to work, I would feel this tightness in my chest. I struggled with anxiety, thinking if that's the place where I belong. I asked myself how I could get out of my career and into my calling. So, that's when I kind of went into a journey of self-discovery."
“I’ve always felt like I’m meant to do something bigger as an entrepreneur.” – Robert McGuinness (04:18-04:21)
Over the past years, I've worked with the top psychologists and spiritual experts to uncover and unravel this conversation around alignment, calling, and soul's purpose. And as I further discovered what that meant, I was going through this process of making it happen for myself. Along the way, I've uncovered this map that consists of three-stage journeys. I used this map to help myself and my clients navigate their journey out of their career and into their calling.
Rae brings up a fascinating question, "In your journey to becoming the entrepreneur that serves people, how have you utilized business relationships to grow other people's business?"
Robert says, "What I believe to be true is that our environment and our relationships, in general, affirm to us our identity. It's anchoring inside of us. We're learning to trust ourselves. The more I've created an environment that doesn't just see me for who I am, but also for whom I want to be, then I'm going to a higher level, and there's a stronger bond that forms into our business relationships. If we are operating with poor energy, we might also attract other people that have poor energy. But when you have rich energy and rich thoughts, then you get to attract the same group of people that are doing the same. There were moments when I had to let go of certain people in my life and make room for new people to come in. That's one of the difficult aspects of personal growth."
It’s just like looking at your credit card statement to see where you spent your time, your money, where you’re exchanging energy and where you’re aligning yourself.
Robert shares what the most difficult things are when it comes to business relationships and how we can overcome them. "I've learned from a coach that I was receiving leadership from, is that there are three buckets of people you should have in your life that are going to support your mission. The first B is the people behind you. The second B is the people beside you. The third B is the people ahead of you. We do this exercise together, where we list our top 10 to 25 relationships in their life. We categorize them in the buckets and evaluate where these people are spending most of their time. Are they spending most of their time behind them, beside them or in front of them? But if they were to spend the same amount of time with people in front of them, those people would probably pull them forward a little bit."
Part Two of ‘Building Business Relationships That Are Aligned’
Robert continues to share a piece of reliable information about building business relationships.
"I think there's a huge conversation around enrollment. If you have a mentor or someone you're looking up to or someone you know that's ahead of you; you want to get them enrolled in your vision. You want them to understand what you're wanting and why you want it. You want to help them see the vision of where you're going and why they're enrolled. Then they're going to be more than happy to support you. If you can't necessarily meet them on a business level, how can you meet them on a human level? It takes courage to introduce yourself and put yourself out there and get in connection and rapport with people. But when you do, what happens is, you're also affirming your identity, right? I used to totally like starry-eyed around certain people that were crushing it. And I'd have this celebrity feel and what I uncovered about what that meant for myself. I was like giving my power away. I can still recognize someone as being ahead of me without giving my power away and being in my sovereignty. Even though they're ahead of me, I can still feel whole in myself. That's what I believe the game of the business is. I believe it's a game of wholeness. It's a game of us returning home to experience our completeness. I value alignment. I value synergy. I value resonance. I want to co-create with someone that I have a soulful resonance with, which almost feels like destiny. Like we were, we were meant to like to be together. The definition for myself of success isn't about money. It isn't about the material things. But it's about how aligned I can truly be to myself. The more that I am aligned to myself, the more that stuff comes."
“Aligned business relationships help you get creative ideas quicker.” – Rae Irelan (20:31-20:50)
Rae shares her perspective about aligned business relationships. She says, "I love talking about things that are hard to kind of put words to. Do you feel like your heart is open? Do you feel like you get creative ideas quicker? I know when business relationships are aligned because all of a sudden, it's like this ping pong ball that is going back and forth. We're playing a game, and I don't feel like I'm the only one swinging, or I don't feel like I'm just having balls thrown at me. So, figuring out that energy of dance and it's super fun when you can bring this into your professional life because it's almost like this friction that gets passed between a group of people. And I'm sure you probably witnessed it in the corporate space and your clients."
