Misfits On Main

If you've ever been curious about what happens to the kids of Disney's Recess decades after the last bell rings at Third Street School, this is the week to come hang out on the island of Misfit Toys!  Who does CJ see as a future used car salesman (to Mackee and ila's opposition)? Which of the shows two stars become future roommates? It's a deep dive into the future of some of your Disney Channel favorite kids like you haven't heard from the Misfits before.

There is some big news regarding Cinderella Castle and the Dream Lights that sends our friend and caller Wilcox Disney off the deep end. After our hosts talk out the news, Will represents the listeners and makes some donations to the Curse Jar with his honest opinion of the breaking news. It's a voicemail and news that will hit home with many.

Things get a little emotional as our hosts talk Mickey bars and Molitovs this week. With season one wrapping soon, its a fun time to look back at this start of the podcast and Misfits on Main. We are wrapping up the season with our new charity highlight, Spirit of Children, and asking you in the Misfit Mafia to help us make a difference. This week, Mackee Mouse takes the hot seat and answers questions from you, the Misfit Mafia! Where did the name Mackee Mouse come from? When did he fall for Disney, or better yet, his wife? Plus, some fun Disney Parks questions that leave him really looking for answers. If you want to get a step closer to knowing the producer behind the show, this is the episode for you! More to come from this series as the group will focus on ila and CJ in future episodes!

Things kick off with a battle in our voicemails between opposing sides of the most polarizing show to date, a hindsight 2020 caller who brings back one of ila and CJ's favorite park memories, and the first "voicemail review" from a Mafia member! Our hosts then kick in to hot topics and cover the breaking news of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort getting a Moana makeover. Theres Halloween coming to The Magic Kingdom, but not in the same framework as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, listen to see how you can enjoy Halloween in Walt Disney World this year!

The break includes ila getting artsy and the day two trip report from CJ's most recent Disney vacation. A nice reprive before they turn the spotlights to Mackee to unload some of your questions. Dont miss this week and your questions answered!

This wraps up our last week of highlighting St Baldrick's Foundation. Next week we will have a brand new Curse for a Cause charity. Forced into another Doomsday survival situation in Walt Disney World, ila and CJ find their own refuge in the park and set up their homes for rebuilding. Mackee, our road-weary survivor, is looking to find his new permanent abode and stumbles upon EPCOT and our competing camps. Between favorite dining locations turned battle zones and Home Alone style traps in World Showcase, this may be the only Walt Disney podcast that talks "strategic attack points" in the same breathe as a popular Disney attraction. Which land did ila call home? Where did CJ set up shop? What land does Mackee deem worthy? Most of all... do YOU agree!? Head to our IG Polls and let us know or call in with your idea! This is Walt Disney World trip planning like you've never seen before.

Only on Misfits on Main does the show kick-off with talk of cheeseburger eggs, Universal Orlando, and wallpaper stripping during quarantine but you all bring the voicemails and the laughs so our hosts keep it rolling. After that, its some Disneyland news that leaves the trio in stitches, some Disney+ news about potential new releases, and some good news for Disney Park Pass worriers. In the mid-break, CJ brings a trip report that leads to some EPCOT Food and Wine "gastro chatter" between him and Mackee. Don't listen while hungry, you'll need a Mickey bar.

Feelings include one of ila's biggest "i"-lights in life and CJ and Mackee talking hydration. Yup, hydration. There are also some reminders of the curse jar in this episode. The Misfit's "Curse for a Cause" campaign includes one of the callers and a few bombs from our hosts, ringing the register for some more donations to St Baldrick's Foundation. Tackling the last trilogy of the Skywalker Saga, ila gives her first-timer's take on these three iconic movies. What's it like watching the entire saga through the eyes of someone who was a Star Wars newbie pre-pandemic? Today's episode wraps up the final chapter in the Misfit's own Star Wars trilogy, so if you missed the first two episodes, head back and listen to episodes 1 and episode 8 before tuning in today to get the FULL story. Now a seasoned pro, ila has some opinions to share and you don't want to miss CJ and Mackee's reactions. What would have been a better outcome for Chewie? Whos ila's favorite character? And is Kylo still an "F-Boy"?! Only one way to find out, drop a listen now!

Along with two listener voicemails to kick things off, the hosts have some hot topics to discuss, including some potentially good news for the return of equity actors back to Walt Disney World. ila brings her first Background Noise to the show, a Disney+ gem she has enjoyed that you can also and CJ brings a travel tip you all should be practicing regularly, especially now.

Lightsabers and Chewie roars are aplenty as our hosts go off a bit this show and make a lot of donations to Saint Baldricks as they "curse for a cause" a record-breaking amount of times... blame Kylo, I guess? Drop a listen to see what makes them so passionate this week. Remember hating crowds on Main Street, USA? How about walking by that quick-service dining location and saying "eh, I'll just get it next time"? Today our Misfit hosts discuss some things they will never take for granted again now that we have experienced life in 2020. It's a show topic that is certain to bring some introspective reminiscing of those little moments you may have taken for granted but never will again. While Walt Disney World may be quite different, ila, CJ, and Mackee are quick to share how and where that Disney Magic is still very alive! Do you have something youll never take for granted and want to share? Consider dropping a call to the voicemail and your message may get played on a future episode.

The listener interaction this week cranks up the waterworks for both our call-in guests and hosts as the show touches on some "core memories" with some of you in the Misfit Mafia. From teacher life and Disney tattoos to Misfit Mixtape entries and baby announcement photoshoots, you all showed up this week and the hosts loved it.

Mackee and CJ agree on a new Disney+ addition that makes two appearances in today's episode, there's a two-bit travel tip for the Road warriors and a 5-star review that covers the importance of mayo on your grilled cheese. Sounds like a typical week on the Island of Misfits. Dont forget our "Curse for a cause" campaign where you can also join and make a donation in the name of St Baldrick's! https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/1069501/2020.

Opinions abound as our hosts take on one of the biggest additions to Disney+ to date, the Broadway smash, Hamilton. The Misfits' views on this hip-hop, operatic-style, phenomena don't all line up with each other, making for some fun banter as they discuss everything from historical accuracies to the hip hop icons who had an impact on this work long after they are gone. What were some of their favorite moments? Who didn't feel the impact they were hoping for? What did YOU think of Hamilton?

Lots of listener interaction on today's episode that leads to the implementation of the new "Curse For a Cause" jar. As you know, sometimes the Misfits can get a little rambunctious on the show and let their words fly! See how they plan to make a positive impact with their "bad words" and how you can get involved! If you want to help our current Charity Spotlight, please click here to support Sammy's father in his annual St. Baldricks Foundation head-shaving in remembrance of his son https://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/1069501/2020. We really can all pitch in together and make a difference, and I know everyone here at Misfits on Main and ZADD Crew Media is honored to start our new charity drive in Sammy's name!

The hosts get high scores from a teacher, talk finances, and face some Mickey Bars and Molitovs in "Feelings" to round things out for a show that almost ended in a duel for our hosts on whether they should talk Hamilton again or not... what say you? If you liked this episode, you know what to do!
