Candy wrappers were found in a neighbor's barn. A hair clip, pencil, and other belongings were also located amongst the mud after a rainstorm. There was an unknown nightgown, and most bizarre - a picture of a still unidentified little girl.

In Shelby, NC, in 2000, nine year old Asha Degree was a typical little girl. She had a supportive family, enjoyed basketball, and had many friends. After a weekend that included a sleepover and a ball game, it was time to get back into the weekly routine. But on Valentine's Day morning, in the before-school rush, her mother had a startling surprise. Little Asha was not in her bed. Chaos ensued, including one of the largest search efforts to date in this area. Now, nearly 24 years later, her family continues to demand answers in the disappearance of "Shelby's Sweetheart."
