Because Jesus is continuing to do his work through us. By the way, this is why we have kind of an audacious vision statement here at Mission Hills. It’s only when we understand why he went to the cross that we really understand the resurrection. Because why Jesus went to the cross was so unbelievable that nothing less than the Resurrection would be sufficient to prove that he had accomplished what he set out to do.

Today we look into Luke as Jesus is asserting his authority with a boldness we haven’t seen up to this point. This whole thing is often called the Triumphal Entry because Jesus is acting like a king and his disciples are welcoming him as a king. Join us as we learn what came before the cross. 

Hear Craig as he goes through how connected this incident is to the story of Zacchaeus that we looked at last week. Now, if the word parable is a new word to you, don’t let it throw you. A parable is just a story intended to communicate spiritual truth. The key to interpreting parables is to look for the intended lesson associated with each character/element.

We need to set the stage so that we can fully understand, celebrate and embrace the significance of the Resurrection of Christ. And we’re going to do that by following along with the Gospel of Luke as he traces some of the key events that led up to the crucifixion of Christ.

And now we come to what is probably the most anxiety-producing of the three non-negotiables:  evangelism. Evangelism is demonstrating and declaring the good news of freedom to those still in captivity.

The Meaning of Worship // We’re going to look today at a passage of Scripture that doesn’t usually get paid much attention to except at Christmas time, but what’s interesting about the passage is that it uses the word “worship” two times and its used by people who don’t quite fit our natural expectations of worshippers.

So clutter is a given. And that’s as true in a church as it is in a house.  The difference is that Churches don’t accumulate things that we have so much as things that we do. We accumulate activities. We accumulate programs. Now, hopefully they’re good activities, good programs…but sometimes the sheer number of these good things can cause us to lose sight of our core purpose.
