This weekend is the second week of our series called PERFECT LOVE. We will be learning from 1 John the type of connection we can have with God through Jesus. John, who was one of the twelve disciples, actually knew Jesus. He lived with him for three years and in that time his life was transformed. He continued to follow him through the Holy Spirit's presence in his life even after Jesus returned to Heaven. This personal connection we can have with God through Jesus is available but in order to experience it we must choose to be close to God.
The apostle John continues the theme of the importance of fellowshipping (having a relationship) with
God. He explains that a relationship with God is active not passive. In order to experience God we
must turn from our sin, hatred, and bitterness, and must turn to love and forgiveness. This is all rooted
in the fact that Jesus did the same for us. He died for us, He loved us, and He forgave us while we
were still sinners and against Him (Romans 5:1-11). Out of our love and gratitude from experiencing
the love of God we too must walk as He walked… in love!
Join us this weekend as we desire to Experience the power of perfect love by choosing to be close to God.
