Choosing You: 5 Steps to Support Yourself When You're Struggling
Sometimes the signs that we need support are easy to miss. We keep going, stay busy, and push through, until we realise we feel stuck, overwhelmed or completely drained.
In this episode, Marie Louise talks about how to recognise when you're struggling, and shares five simple steps to help you pause, get clear, and choose yourself.
In this episode:
• The common signs you might be struggling, including feeling stuck, overwhelmed, unclear, or physically depleted
• Why noticing is always the first step
• A simple brain dump exercise to clear your head
• How to separate what's in your control from what isn't
• Using breath and body awareness to release tension
• Choosing one or two small actions to support yourself this week
• Why self-support starts with you, and how small choices build a more empowered future
Reflection questions to take away:
• Where do I choose to start supporting myself today?
• What's one thing I can do for myself over the coming days?
• How can I show up more for myself?
If this episode resonated with you, I'd love to hear how you got on. And if you feel you'd benefit from some extra support, you can find out more about working with me at cedarwillowwellbeing.com.
In this episode of Wellbeing Within, I’m exploring what can happen when we finally give ourselves permission to slow down. Beneath the busy mind and the overthinking, there is often another layer waiting for our attention : our emotions.
We’ll look at how to gently check in with what you’re feeling, notice where emotions are showing up in your body, and create space to acknowledge and process them rather than simply thinking your way through them. This is an invitation to pause, listen inwardly, and reconnect with what may be asking to be noticed.
Welcome to Wellbeing Within. In today’s episode, The Gift of Time, I want to explore something we often feel we don’t have enough of, yet perhaps need to give ourselves more freely. In a world that encourages us to keep moving, achieving and looking towards the next thing, what might happen if we allowed ourselves to slow down? To stop measuring our days by how much we accomplish and instead create space to pause, notice, reflect and simply be. Today, I invite you to step away from the clock for a little while and consider what giving yourself the gift of time might offer your mind, your body and your overall wellbeing.
In this episode, We explore what stress really is, how it can gradually build and the physical, emotional and behavioural signs to notice. You’ll be guided through a simple stress check-in and practical steps to help you pause, regain perspective and make realistic changes before stress becomes overwhelming.
In this episode, we explore the role personal accountability plays in building empowered states of wellbeing. Real change often begins when we become willing to look honestly at our behaviours, patterns, and choices. We’ll discuss how avoidance can quietly hold us back from growth, and how taking responsibility for ourselves opens the door to meaningful change. By bringing awareness to the areas of life that need our attention, we can begin making small, intentional shifts that strengthen our psychological and spiritual wellbeing and support lasting personal expansion.
Personal growth isn’t about fixing what’s broken — it’s about reconnecting with who you truly are and learning how to move through life with more clarity, confidence, and intention. In today’s episode, we’re exploring how life coaching can support you to step out of autopilot, understand what’s really holding you back, and begin making choices that feel more aligned with the life you want to create. Whether you’re feeling stuck, ready for change, or simply curious about your next chapter, this conversation will help you reflect, reset, and take gentle but powerful steps forward.
Welcome to this episode of Wellbeing Within. This is a gentle space where we explore what it truly means to nurture wellbeing from the inside out. In today’s episode, we’ll be reflecting on the importance of slowing down, reconnecting with ourselves, and using practices like journaling and self-reflection to build clarity, emotional balance, and empowered states of wellbeing. As you listen, I invite you to take a breath, soften your attention, and allow whatever resonates to meet you where you are. This time is for you — a moment to pause, tune in, and support your ongoing journey toward a more grounded, heart-led life.
Today I’ll be exploring the importance of maintaining ourwell-being and self-reflective practices, and particularly to promote confidence and that sense of self-empowerment that we get from doing those things for ourselves.
I suppose it's looking at building resilience and nurturingour capacity to self-reflect and how that can take us on that path to a real sense of inner confidence and self-empowerment.
So, wellbeing is not just about what we do on aday-to-day basis, it's also that concept of well-being within so the capacity to self-reflect, that capacity to know ourselves more fully, and how that then breeds more confidence within ourselves and gives us that senseof autonomy and self-empowerment.
The reason why these things matter today particularly is because there's so much going on around us, we have many external influences like social media, commercialism and materialism, all of which can potentially get us to a point of burnout or emotional fatigue.
So it's important to nurture our own wellbeing from within. I suppose the message I want you to take away from today's podcast is that this is about learning to slow down so that you can build yourself up from within.
It's important not to dismiss well-being. As there are key aspects to your wellbeing, including your mental well-being, your emotional well-being, your physical well-being, your social well-being, and your spiritual well-being.
Can you ask yourself how are you tending to all those parts of yourselves currently? Because you know we're not just one thing, every one of us is made-up of different things that feed into who we are as a person, the more we can tend to what it is for us that is important, and tend to those things we better we will feel in day-to-day life, and within ourselves.
By tending to these areas, we start to create inner conditions that give birth to that sense of confidence, and then in turn that enables you to thrive day-to-day in your life. So through my own experience, I found one of the important aspects in this process of building and tending to your well-being is starting to recognise the role that self-reflection plays in informing, influencing and helping you discover what's going on for you and what's important for you.
Building a practice of self-reflection, meditation and journaling is a powerful process to this end. So, if you would like to get a little taste of this process why not try out my complimentary Release Meditation and Reflection Bundle on my Club Meditate webpage.
