It’s our last episode before the big night, and we do have some last minute Oscar Prediction changes as well as some hopes & dreams for the Academy Awards. But we hope this episode plays well beyond the Oscars because of the rest of the program.

The Indie Spirits might have been our favorite precursor awards show thus far, and no matter what happens on the 24th, this show will stand on its own merits. Catch the replay, watch the youtube clips, and attach the gifs. This was a fun show, and we had more fun recapping it.

We had a blast with the audience interaction this week, doing both some SixDegreesOfMMO & responding to more of your made-up Oscar categories, which we certainly got a kick out of once again. Then we had a long ass What We’re Watching segment, reviewing Ben Is Back, Studio 54, Frozen, Crashing, Friends From College, & more. Then we close things out with box office commentary and Hollywood new movie news like the Captain Marvel early buzz, A Quiet Place 2 green light, and the recent announcement of the Hulk Hogan biopic.

This was our 7th day in a row where we recorded and put out an episode. It’s Oscar Week, and MMO has been working overtime. We concluded our category overview series this week, which included 9 pods on the 10 major categories: Song, Animated Film, Director, Picture, Screenplays, and the 4 Acting. Of course, we dropped our Oscar picks this past Thursday with analyses of the betting odds, and we concluded the awards season with two major centerpieces of the week.

First, there was our interview with The Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg. Here we spoke to him about a bunch of big picture Academy topics, how he does his forecast, why he does his interviews of all the nominees, and just who he was, is, & will be - basically we got him to tell some of his origin story, chronicle his career path, and teach us how to be like him.

Then finally, we did the Mike, Mike, and Oscars - our award show for the film year 2018. This year, we had you come up with many of the categories, and you did not disappoint.
