On September 20, 2004, Blade Icewood was shot in his own house in Oak Park, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He was hit with seven bullets from an AK-47 assault rifle, after gunmen broke into his house. After the shooting, an officer stated that Icewood refused to assist investigators. He was paralyzed from the chest down and used a wheelchair. Two days prior to his own shooting, another shooting happened outside of Candy Bar, a Woodward Avenue nightclub, that left Wipeout, a rival Eastside Detroit rapper, dead. Many speculated the shootings were related. A diss song called ”Ride On Me” suggests that Icewood knew the assailants.

In 2014, Staten Island drug kingpins and Bloods members Anthony “Nitty” and Harvey “Black” Christian were convicted for using murder and violence to maintain a crack enterprise in the Park Hill projects. “For 20 years Harvey and Anthony Christian ran a large crew that sold crack and other drugs. According to the NY Daily News, Christian–who denies any responsibility in the deaths of Estella or Brooker– “sought a hearing to determine if there was a possible link between the rap group Wu-Tang Clan and two murders he was convicted of ordering.”

”Ricky Jivens was a one-man crime wave,” he said. ”He was responsible for the deaths of 15 to 20 people. He didn’t pull the trigger but he influenced those who did.”

The indictment released Tuesday charges Hutchinson and Favors with murder of a witness for allegedly shooting victims Sidney Campbell and Marie Stamp.

Hutchinson and Favors are also accused of severely beating Campbell’s son, Cody Campbell, on Feb. 12 in Columbus to keep him from cooperating with a federal drug investigation. Cody Campbell died the next day.

Karon Elijah Peoples, age 24, of Baltimore, Maryland, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for a heroin distribution conspiracy.  Peoples admitted that during his participation in the conspiracy, he was responsible for distributing, or facilitating the distribution of, between nine and 10 kilograms of heroin.  In addition, Peoples admitted that nine fatal overdose victims and 18 overdose survivors had contacted Peoples’ phones prior to their overdose—either by phone call or text message—in order to arrange for the purchase of heroin.

A man fatally shot during an ambush in the garage of a Manayunk home this week was identified Thursday by the Medical Examiner’s Office as 43-year-old I-Dean Fulton.

Police officials declined to give additional details about the case — which Chief Inspector Scott Small had described as “clearly an execution-type shooting” — offering only a brief description of the incident and no motive.

Officers responding to the 300 block of Dupont Street about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday found Fulton in the driver’s seat of a Hyundai SUV inside the garage, which also held 30 fired cartridge casings.

Fulton was declared dead at 9:05 p.m., police said.

Tyler Huffhines, 20, and 23-year-old brother Jacob Huffhines flew to California on Labor Day weekend with a plan for Tyler to use $300,000 he packed in a suitcase to buy 40 to 50 jars of THC oil for an illegal vaping manufacturing business that pumped out as many as 5,000 counterfeit cartridges a day, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Some were labeled with names like Chronic Sour Patch and the batch included fruit-flavored varieties.

According to evidence presented at previous hearings, Coleman was the primary target of the Philadelphia group. A detective testified that Coleman was trafficking large amounts of cocaine at the time and was known to have large sums of money on hand.
