Join Jay Silver & Brother Barkington—a reckless space adventurer and his loyal sidekick... who’s literally a talking tree—as they stumble through the galaxy in an epic tale of chaos and questionable decision-making. First, they accidentally doom an entire planet (turns out pressing all the buttons at once is a bad idea), then they steal a sacred flower from an alien temple (because Barkington insisted it would “really tie the spaceship together”).

Their journey takes them through the 16-bit boss rush from hell, where they face off against a sentient blender, a two-headed space walrus, and a villainous crab wearing a top hat. Along the way, they somehow make new friends—mainly because Barkington's soothing bark puns tend to disarm even the angriest enemies.

This is the sprawling, pixel-packed tale of “The Nerd Nebula: The Side-Scrolling Planet Saga”—where bad decisions are just plot twists, saving the day involves a lot of accidental property damage, and a tree with deep roots in sarcasm steals the spotlight. Will they succeed? Probably not. But will it be hilarious? You can bet your bark on it.

Anyway, this week on the Spaceship of Duct Tape & Dreams, Jay Silver casually does a flyby over Magnolia in the kingdom of Fiore—because why not? In this quaint little town lies a certain guild that's packed with dragon slayers. Oh, and they eat elements. Yeah, eat them. Like, "pass the fire, this iron needs seasoning" kind of weird.

Shall we go in for a closer look? Or should we just stay up here and judge them from a safe distance?

Judging them might be a bad idea—if a fight breaks out, we’re definitely not ready to take on a guild of dragon slayers. Better land and act like we’re just here for the sightseeing. You know, blend in, maybe compliment their weird element-eating habits.
