In her own words, Ashley Albert needs a nap! As the co-founder of The Matzo Project and The Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club, as well as a 25-year veteran of the cut-throat New York City Voice-Over industry, she stays busy! Also, as the lead singer of The Jimmies, she has throngs of first graders throwing animal crackers and tantrums at her feet at venues like Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits.
In her free time, she snacks extravagantly, buys domain names, takes too many pictures of her dog, Baxter, and threatens to take TV time away from her 13 year old son Alejandro every hour on the hour.
Today Daniella speaks with Ashley Albert about her adoption journey (13:18). They dive into her meeting her son for the first time (23:15). They’ll also discuss the parenthood struggles of adopting an adolescent child (28:30). They’ll then cover generational trauma and learning to not pass it on (45:15) and wanting to create a table of your own (51:00).
