In Matthew 6:25–34, Jesus speaks directly to our anxious thoughts and calls us away from worry and toward confident trust in our heavenly Father. The God who feeds the birds and clothes the lilies knows exactly what His children need. Worry cannot control tomorrow, change our circumstances, or add a single hour to our lives.

Season 8 of Moments of Worship begins with a new series, Taking Every Thought Captive. In 2 Corinthians 10:3–5, Paul reminds us that the Christian life involves a real spiritual battle, but our weapons are not fleshly. They have divine power.

What does it mean to “take every thought captive to obey Christ”? It is more than simply trying to stop negative thoughts. It means bringing our entire way of thinking under the lordship and authority of Jesus Christ. Our worries, comparisons, jealousies, desires, assumptions, and values must all be tested by the truth of God’s Word.

In this episode, Pastor Keith McMinn encourages us to ask a simple but searching question: Does this thought submit to Christ?

Psalm 24 proclaims the Lord as the Creator and rightful King over all the earth. Because He owns all things, He alone has the authority to rule and the power to sustain His creation. The psalm also confronts us with God's perfect holiness, reminding us that sinful people cannot stand in His presence on their own. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ, the only One with perfectly clean hands and a pure heart, fulfilled God's righteous standard, paid the penalty for our sins, and credits His righteousness to all who trust in Him. The psalm concludes with the triumphant arrival of the King of Glory, pointing us to Christ, who conquered sin, death, and Satan through His death and resurrection. As our victorious King, Jesus alone is worthy of our worship, trust, and wholehearted devotion.

In this episode of Moments of Worship, we conclude our study of Psalm 23 by reflecting on the comfort and confidence believers have in the Good Shepherd. Even as we walk through life's darkest valleys, God is with us—protecting, guiding, disciplining, and abundantly providing for His people.
