Who doesn't want more happiness in life? We want it for our children, spouse, friends and everyone we love. As moms non-acceptance of the stage in parenting we are at, what our children choose to do in life and even of ourselves can hinder our happiness.
By making some changes and getting better at acceptance as a key ingredient in our lives, we can create a better recipe for a happier and more fulfilling life.

When we decide to have children, we often imagine what they will be like and become. But, that vision doesn't usually include thinking about our children having challenges like autism, ADHD in a world that is scary, violent and feels unsafe.
Jorie Houlihan is today's guest and she shares what all of this is like and what she's learned. We have a great conversation on how Jorie navigates these challenges as a mom that discovered she also has ADHD. We talk about how to accept what is instead of what is not in both our children and ourselves.

Do you hear the term "baby steps" used so often that it doesn't seem to hold much meaning?
As moms we celebrate our children learning to walk as a huge milestone. We cheer our child on countless times as they fall down. What if we cheered ourselves and others in the same way as we tackle something we aren't so comfortable with? It's time to use that same determination and the keep on trying attitude it takes for a child to begin walking and use it to take some baby steps in our own lives.

Do you ever see a mom that seems to have it all figured out balancing life and entrepreneurship? The path for any entrepreneur isn't a clear one and for moms, our paths become even trickier to navigate. But, by being a mom, it makes us more uniquely qualified to be even BETTER in our entrepreneurial endeavors.
In this episode I'm excited for you to meet a very special woman that was key in my own mompreneur journey and my dream to write a book. Jessica DeBry answered the calling within her to help women write their stories and change the world.
As a mom, she faces extra challenges as she raises her son with many severe and life-threatening food allergies. Jessica shares how she uses the ups and downs in both her personal and professional life as growth tools and a guide to step into her purpose and help women write their story and change the world.

Fitting in isn't always easy but doing something different and daring to stand out can seem downright scary. Why would we risk judgment from others, waste the time, or risk friendships when we don't know what the outcome will be?
As moms, staying in our comfort zone and playing it safe seems like a safer choice.
There is a cost to try something different, but there can be even greater benefits that outweighs the cost, and pays off big.
Need proof? I'll share real examples of how daring to be different created MOMmentum that continues to pay off today.

As moms, we encourage our children to be and do whatever they want. But sometimes it is hard to take our own advice. Afterall, "what will our children think if we step out of our motherly role comfort zones and try something new?"
This episode's very special guest is my oldest daughter, Alexandra Pennings.
I had planned to have her on the podcast to share her perspective of what it's like for children to have their moms go after their dreams,
BUT instead, this interview has an extra great reason for being on the MOMmentum podcast as we talk about her own unexpected motherhood surprises and the emotions and feelings that go along with it. Oh, and me about to be a first time grandmother – woah!

As moms we spend a lot of time and effort making sure our children have what they need to start the year off right. However, many of us spend little time or effort to ensure that we will have our own great school year ahead.
This time of year signals a time of change. Sometimes it's a welcome change and at other times, it comes with resistance, sadness, or a sense of dread.
In this MOMmentum mini episode, we will discuss two big essentials that moms need to make the back-to-school list that will set us up for our own great school year.

Did you experience a "loss of self" when your name became 'Mom'? It can be easy to lose yourself when you become a mom. In today's MOMmentum mini episode we are going to take time to rediscover who you are outside of motherhood.
Our daily lives can feel like a revolving door of food prepping, to-do lists, work, running errands and bouncing from one school activity to the next. It's no wonder that as our daily routines revolve around our children that our sense of self gets lost. As this goes on, days turn into weeks that turn into years until you don't remember what you want or like anymore.
What happens when we let our role as a mom serve as our identity? In today's episode I break it down why having a clear sense of who we are not only benefits you, but everyone around you.

Have you ever felt that you lost who you are when you became a mom?
That's why I'm excited to have Debi Huckaby, creator of Red Letters Coaching & Community on the show.
Debi shares how reading the book, The Road Back To You, by Ian Morgan Cron changed her career path and made a difference in her own family. As she uncovered the strengths she had, she decided to help others as an enneagram coach and pursue her master's in professional counseling.
In today's conversation we talk about as moms we often try to find our own road back to who we are throughout our motherhood journeys and discuss ways we can get back to finding ourselves again.
