  • The President on a Roll: A Raise for the Middle Class & New Rules on Segregation
Last week, President Obama proposed giving millions of middle class workers a raise. This week, he's tackling segregation. This is not bad for what the MSM presumed was a "lame duck Administration" following the 2014 midterm elections. In the meantime: Greece's problems are upsetting financial markets, the GOP clown bus keeps getting more crowded as 15 candidates fight among themselves for 10 spots in the first Fox News debate... and on the Democratic side of the ticket, reporters continue to write nasty articles about Hillary Clinton while basically ignoring the phenomenal drawing power of Bernie Sanders. MOMocrats Karoli, Cynematic and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss in this week's podcast looking at the day's political news from the progressive point of view. An Engender Media Group production.

  • A Good Week for Progressives
Forgive The MOMocrats if they feel like they've awakened in some imaginary progressive universe: Last week saw the Supreme Court deliver happy decisions on marriage equality, the Affordable Care Act and Fair Housing - and legal anaylyst Jessica Mason Pieklo will be back to talk about that. The fact that the Roberts Court also decided against Clean Air makes them want to shout "argle bargle," but that's beside the point: Could the mood of the country be shifting left? Activist Bree Newsome took the Confederate flag flying at the South Carolina state capitol into her own hands and an enthralled online community set about raising funds to pay her $5,000 bail money (and in the space of a day, wound up with over $100K). Bernie Sanders is drawing crowds larger than any other candidate. The President is raising wages for millions of workers who don't currently receive overtime. The US and Cuba are opening embassies. Can you blame hosts Cynematic, Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills for wanting to talk about all this good news for a change? Produced by Engender Media Group.

  • SCOTUS is Not the Only News This Week
In a normal week, the MOMocrats would be anxiously awaiting the Supreme Court decisions on lethal injection, redistricting, EPA regulations, same sex marriage, Obamacare subsidies. But while the SCOTUS decisions will have long-term impact on the nation, this is not a normal week and MOMocrats Karoli, Cynematic and Donna Schwartz Mills will be discussing a myriad of other topics like: TPP, the Confederate flag, Bernie Sanders' amazing campaign rallies and Hillary Clinton's bold speech on race -- and President Obama's appearance on Marc Maron's podcast ("The best I've ever heard him do," says Karoli). Produced by Engender Media Group.

  • Another White Terrorist Strikes in Charleston
MOMocrats Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills had planned to use the official entrance of Donald Trump into the 2016 Presidential race to talk about the Clown Car that is the GOP field of candidates... but that was before a 21-year-old white thug shot a Bible study group at the Emanual AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina -- killing nine people, including the pastor, Rev. Clementa Pinckney, who was also a South Carolina state senator. Political discussion from a progressive point of view, produced by Engender Media Group.

  • McKinney, Texas and the Start of a Long Hot Summer
The MOMocrats had a hard time watching the videotape of the police action at that McKinney, Texas pool party this weekend - but, as Cynematic points out, the results may indicate hope for the next generation in the fight against racism. Just keep carrying those smartphones, folks, so we can continue to document abuse when we see it. Also discussed: The lack of planning for what could happen to folks with health insurance on the Federal exchanges if the King v. Burwell decision strikes down funding, the budget problems in red states and the California "miracle," and surprisingly strong polling numbers for a fictional villain. MOMocrats Cynematic, Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss politics from a progressive POV in this Engender Media Group production.

  • The Supreme Court, Obamacare and Religious Freedom
RH Reality Check's Senior Legal Analayst, Jessica Mason Pieklo, joins the MOMocrats' for what's become an annual event: a lively discussion of the Supreme Court, as the 2014-15 session wanes. Hanging in the balance: Their decision on Obamacare subsidies for people in the Federal exchange (which could do to the ACA what 50-some Congressional repeal votes could not). And Jessica will have analysis on plenty more of this year's decisions. MOMocrats Karoli, Cynematic and Donna Schwartz Mills host. An Engender Media Group production.

  • Who to Blame for the Floods in Texas?
Pat Robertson says he doesn't know what to blame for the floods in Texas. The MOMocrats wish safety for Texans and a quick end to the flooding - and speculate about how Governor Greg Abbott will go about rebuilding (with or without Federal funding)? Also this week: lack of funding for higher education, Bernie Sanders' campaign for President and more in this week's podcast looking at the day's political news from the progressive point of view. MOMocrats Cynematic, Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills host. An Engender Media Group production.

  • MOMocrats MOMochat: A Stop to TPP Talks -- Now What?
An Amtrak crash kills half a dozen people and injuries hundreds others -- when oh when will we set aside funds to maintain our infrastructure? And it shouldn't take a well-trafficked route that members of Congress take to get to DC to spur them into action. We discuss the South Carolina man whose political and physical blindness to the benefits of Obamacare could cost him his eyesight. And finally we talk about the TPP and how Senate Democrats put the brakes on the president's trade talks with Pacific Rim countries. When do we find out more details and what are terms we'd be happy with? And can we expect more muscle-flexing from the economic populist wing of the Democratic Party as we head into 2016?An Engender Media Group production.

  • Hillary, Bernie, Carly, Mike and Ben: Just a Typical Week in US Politics
Just another week in US politics:  Hillary Clinton throws down on the GOP regarding immigration reform and Bernie is in the race - while the GOP clown car gets more crowded with Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Carly Fiorina.Around the country: In the wake of Baltimore and Ferguson, President Obama launches the My Brother's Keepr nonprofit organization (spun off from the White House initiative of the same name). And reports of full-scale paranoia in Texas after Islamophobic nut job Pamela Geller provokes a couple of ISIS wannabes into a suicide mission, and Special Forces training mission they believe is intended to facilitate a government takeover of Texas. Plus,  John Oliver goes off on the testing obsession. MOMocrats Cynematic, Karoli and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss politics from a progressive point of view. An Engender Media Group production.
