Are you feeling lonely while raising your business? Do you feel that this -ish is too hard? Who do you lean on when it gets way too hard?
Hey mama! I was there. And honestly, I'm still there. The difference between now and then is that I found a tribe that I can just go to and unload all my frustrations and angst about raising a business on. Sometimes about my kids too. Hehe.
Meet Kimi+Pua. The reason why I don't feel so lonely anymore. And my number 1 support system I turn to when shit gets too real for me. And it kind of gets really real for me...a lot.
Find out how these 2 badasses can help you get into the right mindset to get your business running.
Mindset.
What the hell does that even mean?
Let me give you a quick rundown. Do you have this belief that raising a business is too hard? Do you keep telling yourself that you are not good enough?
That narrative right there mama is what I like to call limiting beliefs. Those thoughts are what hold you back from becoming the person you were meant to be. The person who keeps whispering to you, "there's got to be more to life than this." That feeling that constantly nags at you telling you that you were meant for more. That is your inner badass speaking to you.
Those limiting beliefs are what is stopping you from unleashing your inner badass.
And that is why you need to listen to Kimi and Pua's episode and join their tribe. They help get you into the right mindset to breakthrough those limiting beliefs and unleash the badass you know that is in you, mama!
So what are you waiting for? Go karate chop those negative thoughts and listen to this episode! You can find the show notes here: 808BusinessMoms.com/27

How many of you have been told that having loose belly skin or peeing when you laugh is just a normal part of motherhood? Did you believe that? I know I did. I believed that because I have kids that peeing a little whenever I laughed or sneezed was normal. That pooch I carry around my abdomen area was just something that came along with being a mom.
I want to be honest. I am not ok with my tiny mishap with incontinence. I am not ok with the deflated tire that has replaced my once flat stomach. I am not ok with it. When people tell me I look beautiful I never believe them. (Even when my boyfriend says it). I just grin and think to myself, "they're just being nice."
Then I was introduced to Erin Thole by a mutual friend. At first, I was apprehensive to let Erin be on my podcast. My podcast is called 808 Business Moms after all. A podcast for business moms in the state of Hawai'i. This is how I describe my podcast to everyone. Erin, she's from Texas.
Since I really trust in our mutual friend I accepted her offer to set up a phone conversation between Erin and I. When Erin and I started talking it started off with me apologizing for oversleeping and missing our first phone call. But, she was totally cool with it. Once Erin started sharing with me about what she does and how she helps mothers I was blown away.
I mean I needed to have her on my show because mothers needed to hear this. In this episode, Erin tells us, "hey our bodies are forever changed once we have children. And that is a BEAUTIFUL THING! But, what you are peeing yourself and have loose skin those are not things that can be corrected. And not just a normal thing of motherhood you have to deal with forever."
Erin and her team go through an intensive process to learn about you and your body to come up with the proper exercise and nutrition for you. She even gives you recipes! This woman and mama-to-be isn't just telling you what is wrong. She is showing you how to correct these things. Now that is something I can be a part of. Erin is on your side mama! As am I!

Since I have opened about my struggles with prenatal and postpartum anxiety, there have been mothers who have reached out and shared their stories with me as well.
This is a topic that I have recently become open about. While I was pregnant with my third child I noticed my anxiety had heightened. So much so, that I locked myself away in my room avoiding everyone. Once I gave birth to my daughter it only got worse. As I struggled to piece together my life. I wasn't sure what to do. All I knew was I just wanted to be left alone. I wanted to be alone because the thought of being around people made me nervous. More nervous than usual.
I remember telling my boyfriend every day for the first year and a half of my daughter's life that I didn't feel right. I remember waking up one day and feeling "normal". I know that sounds weird but that is the simplest way I can explain it. I didn't feel that imbalance within me that I had been feeling for 2 years straight.
Although my anxiety has gotten better I still continue to deal with it every day. That is why I asked Rachel Ebert of Sunshine Therapy to join me as a guest today.
Rachel talks about how she helps mothers with their maternal health and offers resources on how we can get help. Something I wish I knew when I went through my own mental health issues.

I really enjoy having a podcast because I get to make new besties like today's guest, Kawailehua Pakjake. (Pronounced: Ka-va-e-lay-who-ah Pa-jah-kay)
Kawailehua is an experienced direct selling consultant who has learned how to not be so spammy on social media.
Think about it.
You are scrolling through your Instagram feed and double tapping away and then you come across THAT person. You know the person I'm talking about. The one who is screaming at you through her photos about how amazing her life is and how amazing the products she is selling for XYZ company are.
You roll your eyes continue swiping with your pointer finger. Not even a double tap. Why? Because most direct sellers come off as SPAM. And you know it's not the good kind we love in our musubi here in Hawai'i. It's the annoying product pushing that just makes us want to hit the "unfollow" button.
Most of us put up with this person and continue to follow because this person is a friend. But if you want to be a real friend to this person then listen up to what Kawai has to say about social media and direct selling.
It is about the stories that you share. Those stories are what gets people engaged. Those stories are what builds that like, know, and trust factor. Listen to how Kawai teaches us how to become not just storytellers, but storysellers. Go rate this interview and subscribe here: 808BusinessMoms.com/iTunes. In this episode, I get to interview Brittany Suafoa. She talks about the difficulties of balancing business life and family life. What helps her is allowing herself grace to rest from business and focus on herself and her 'ohana.
Big Takeaways:
*Brittany talks about how she notices a lot of seamstresses burn out and stop sewing. People need to realize the time it takes to make a handmade product and to appreciate their time and pay them for their value.
*There is no such thing as competition in her business world. In her mind, everyone supports and helps each other.
*Brittany gives herself grace to take a break from her business and spend time with her children.
Are you living your truth? What does that even mean? What I mean is, are you happy? Like really truly happy with how your life is right now?
I went through years of doing the same thing over and over again. Only to fail miserably, over and over again. And the problem was I was not living my truth. I kept telling myself the same lies that I began to believe them.
Listen and learn how it took me YEARS to finally learn how to live my truth.
In this episode, I get to interview Laine Hamamura of play date cupcakes. Laine's unique integration for her love of baking and having play dates started from having an oven. After not having one for 3 years. Listen and learn how this business idea evolved from having a kitchen appliance.
