This week we focus on the unhealthy idolization of people and status in the industry. This suggestion came in from Agustin, and fit pretty well with our past few episodes on mental health.

This week we discuss a growing trend we're seeing on social media: burning out. Not just burning out, but feeling betrayed by clients and all that comes with that. The growing length of holds, communication issues (which we talked about two episodes back as well), being satisfied with a career in motion design, and the general mental health of the industry.

This week is our season 4 finale! We're going to be taking a few weeks off and do a catch-up in July, and back to our normal schedule in September. This week we reflect a bit on this past season, but get pretty heavy into motion design rates. Rendering fees? Day rates? Project rates? Raise your rates!!!! A bit of everything.

This week's call is a general discussion around hosting your work, best places for reels, tracking your time on projects, and a whole lot more. This is our second to the last call of the season so be on the lookout for the finale!

This week, Mark leads the call. It starts as an open discussion that turns into a great topic: who is responsible if a project goes south? If your client or the studio you're working with drops the ball, why does it fall on the artist? Why are we asked to work late, weekends, holidays, etc? Shouldn't that be on the client to hire more people or to take responsibility for not managing the project appropriately?
