Welcome to the Mone and flow podcast today we're going to talk about Henrietta Green The Witch of Wall Street and Madam CJ Walker.
The Witch of Wall Street
Once upon a time there once was a gangster dressed in black name Henrietta “Hetty” Green aka the “Witch of Wallstreet.” Lil Wit for short. During the times of JP Morgan, And the Rockefellers, there was one-woman financier changing the game. She was from a prominent family the Green. When she was six years old she read her grandfather, Gideon Howell financial papers, because he couldn’t see too good. This was her first interaction with da money. Dollar Dolla bills Y'all. Anywhoo she started she say that her father’s company didn’t have their business money down pat. Then she offers to take over her father's company accounting papers, by the age of 13. For years she fine-tuned her accounting skills to purchase stock in Wall Street.
Many people viewed Hetty as a rude evil woman. Many wall street journalists would say that she smelled bad and had terrible handwriting that unfit for a woman. Her father purchased her a huge wardrobe and she took the clothes back to the store, and still found a man. This woman bought and purchased real estate, railroad, and made some killer deals. Most people called her nothing more than a glorified pawnbroker. She invested like a hawk, When she died Green had accumulated more than $100 million, about $2.4 billion today — all of it going to their children and since neither of her kids had kids they gave it to charities and nonprofits. This happened all before women had the right to vote.

We hate Money because we’re not good at Math. Oh, brother here we go… How many times have you been told that math is a guy thing? Or that you’re not a math person? This is the crazy limiting belief we chat about. It’s a microaggression that has turned macro. Out of all the conversation out of people is that there are two types of people in the world: The poets and quants.
We uncover that today.
