Fading Memories: Alzheimer's/Dementia Caregiver Support

Money & Dementia - Financial Planning

Listen Later

Money & Dementia - Financial Planning. Planning ahead financially when dealing with dementia is crucial for both the individual and their caregivers. Establishing a comprehensive financial plan early on can help alleviate stress and ensure proper care and support as the condition progresses. This includes setting up legal arrangements such as power of attorney, creating a budget for medical expenses and long-term care, exploring insurance options, and considering estate planning. Seeking guidance from financial advisors and legal experts specialized in elder care can provide invaluable assistance in navigating these complex matters.
About Our Guest
Courtney Heiden has a very personal reason to focus on dementia and money. In 2015 her father was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's at age 58. Before knowing what was going on, his home ended up in foreclosure. With this in mind, Courtney launched a financial planning practice. She specializes in helping families find quality care for their loved ones without losing everything. Courtney's goal is to be a light and a voice filled with hope and confidence in the lives of those around her.
In this episode, Courtney shares her valuable knowledge of financial planning when faced with a dementia diagnosis.
