Construction is set to begin on the luxurious Pulse Homes at Villa Ronai, Stony Hill, Jamaica in the second half of 2021. Thirty eco-friendly homes will be constructed in the valley, with a price tag between US$450 thousand and US$560 thousand.  They are expected to be ready in about 2023-24. Do you remember a time when J$20 used to be a paper note?  The Jamaican $20 bill was officially changed to a coin in 2000, symbolizing its decrease in value, as coins tend to be worth less than notes in a country’s currency.  What if you have saved that $20 note under a mattress in 1995? At the time, it would’ve been worth about US$0.56. Today, it would only be worth US$0.13, and that’s not counting the loss in value due to inflation.  What would it be worth if you had invested that $20 instead?  Let’s look at investing vs. saving.

Access to financing just got easier for micro, small and medium sized businesses (MSMEs) in Jamaica. They are now able to access $675 million in additional funding support from the Government, under the new 4.75% MSME Capital and Business Loan Programme.

The facility, being spearheaded by the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, is being executed in partnership with the National Export-Import (EXIM) Bank, and Jamaica National Small Business Loans Limited (JNSBL).
