Welcome to the first BFF Show After Party. Olga, Amy and Maureen went to the first BFF Show and invited me to sit down and get to know them afterwards. I think I learned too much! This episode was fun, informative, uncomfortable and a little scary. But you are going to love these ladies by the end of the episode.
Check out the next BFF Show September 23rd with Julio Gonzalez, Jamel Dotson, Brian Matthews and Corina Segun. it is going to be a blast and who knows, you might find yourself at the next after party!
The Buddy System, George Ferido and Aaron Chase stop by Mongo's House to talk about their role in developing a comedy scene in the Inland Empire and their plans for their September 14th kick of the "The White Trash Tour" at the Fox Theater in Riverside. They are shooting this to pitch to Netflix. We talk shop about hosting open mics and what we are trying to create east of L.A.
Mike Hughes comes to Mongo's House and brings his daughter Nickie. Mike is the typical dad who is trying to hold onto his little girl by bringing her to a room full of people who are a little off kilter and have issues that they make funny and share with a bunch of strangers. Nickie is a great young lady who is a heck of a sport and came out and did a great job on stage. She was the only person in the room who got paid since she negotiated half of her cell phone bill in exchange for a three minute set. My girl friend joined on the the podcast too!!! Hope you enjoy it.
Jim Barnes, a motocross enthusiast, motorcycle dealership owner, stand-up comedian and general great guy stops by and tries to get me sick before he heads off on a long vacation.
I invite Ori Amir into the House and find myself in a scene straight from taxi cab confessions. Check out this Israeli Neuroscientist who does more than just stand up when he isn't studying the inner workings of the brain.
This is my first repeat guest. I talk to Daniel often and he is always someone who makes me think and gives me a different point of view. He surprised me by performing two songs that I don't think he even knew he was going to perform but nothing tops how he described his wife. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did.
Stefanie Michelle and Sleek join me in the house. We had the boys around and the new location may have caused some sound issues. The conversation is a great one with us talking about our influences, how we see comedy and what we enjoy in each other. All three of us will be in Claremont April 15 at Flappers.
Follow both of them on instagram: Stefannie at Stefi2319 and Sleek at heavensentmf
George Ferido is a fantastic local comic that runs a couple of rooms in the Inland Empire. He has a great ability to make live comedy relevant. I talk about it in the podcast but listen into this Hawaiian born native and go check him out ladies....
William Randolph is a true veteran road comic that spent 25 years on the road and sits down with me to share some of his knowledge of being a stand up comic. I learned some cool things in this episode. He has an up coming show so please check him out on April 8, 2018 at Claremont Flappers at 7pm.
Man Ashley comes over to Mongos House to talk about the 5k challenge. There is fat shaming and dick jokes. That isn't a spoiler alert, I just don't want to Matt Lower anyone and feel like I trapped you after you push play.
