The Lee poll, performed by the Mason-Dixon polling firm shows Zinke leading Juneau by a margin of 53 percent to 40 percent.

    State wildlife officials believe a grizzly bear is responsible for an attack on a man outside Whitefish yesterday evening. The man was walking with his adult daughter and two dogs on F.H. Stoltze property in the Haskill Basin area when they unknowingly separated a sow from her two cubs.

  • Grants Target Mental Health, Addiction Treatment In Montana
    Half a dozen health care systems in Montana are sharing more than $700,000 in grants to make mental or behavioral health care easier to get. The Montana Healthcare Foundation says it's making the grants to support better healthcare for people who have a combination of medical problems and mental illness and/or addiction. It plans to award more than $3 million to the initiative over the next two years.

    Today through Saturday, the Salish Pend d’Oreille tribal community will be remembering their ancestors by retracing their steps. This Saturday will mark 125 years since the Bitterroot Salish were forcibly removed from the Bitterroot Valley, traveling three days to the Flathead Reservation in Arlee.
