The general theme of all these literatures is that anyone can rise in due course of time. And if you do it step by step, first by getting knowledge and then having practice, these are the two things you have to have. First, you have to have knowledge; then, you have to practice. Ignorance doesn't help. Ignorance could also mean "ignore- ance."

This is the story of a famous musician. His name was Warren Zevon, and from the time he was a child, he was always afraid that he might die of cancer. He did die of cancer, but the fear caused him to ignore any symptoms he had when he was an adult. Because he was so afraid of going to the doctor and hearing that he had cancer, he didn't go. And he missed the timeframe when it was at stage one and two, when he could've cured it. But he let it go, and then it was too late.

So, yeah, it's a little scary to hear the "C word." But if you're proactive, and you go in early and say, "Yeah, I understand I have some of these symptoms. So what can I do about it? How can I start now?" Little bit at a time one can catch it in the beginning and make progress. That's the optimistic part about it.
