Do you wish your sound quality was better on your podcast or Zoom meetings?
Do you think that a new, shiny mic is the answer to that problem?
I’m here to suggest that a mic is not what needs to be adjusted.
Don’t run out and throw money at a “solution” (aka a new mic) that might not actually fix anything.
Instead, there are 3 changes we can make (simply and with what we already have - and I promise, they aren’t super techy) that can SIGNIFICANTLY improve your sound quality.

Are you fired up for the year? Ready to go?
Or just not mentally as in the game as before?
No judgement for either one (and we have to admit, we’re much more in the “just not mentally in the game” phase at the moment, you know, considering ALL that’s going on...).
And if there’s one thing we’ve learned about myself and not being in the zone, it’s that it happens.
It happens to every.single.one.of.us.
That’s just life. We fade in and out of excitement and motivation and inspiration. We’re human.
And the most important lesson we’ve learned with that whole being human thing is that we CAN PREPARE for when we’re not feeling the mojo.
We can have a plan for when interest is waning so our podcast and business and sales continue while we catch up.
We’re sharing how you can do this too (and even get ahead of it) on the podcast this week.
If you’re fired up now- perfect, listen to this and take action on making a plan for when you’re not so fired up later.
And if you’re in the not so inspired category right now, don’t fret, we’ve got you covered in this episode too.

I’m sharing what these 3 main items are on this week’s podcast. If you have a show, this is a MUST listen.
These are the things that make me feel empowered in making decisions, on top of what else to create, and make it clear if I’m adding value to my listeners and business.

Woah. We made it to the end of 2020.
Are you with me in feeling some relief about this?
As much as I’m ready to jump into the new year, I’m still taking this end of the year time to reflect on 3 CRUCIAL items that will help my podcast next year.
These are 3 things I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you look at as well if you have a show too.

Let’s talk about guests on your podcast.
I get asked about this A LOT.
Here’s the question you SHOULDN’T be asking about having guests on your podcast:
Should I have guests: yes or no?
Instead, the question I really want you to be asking is: WHY?
WHY would you have guests on your show?
This adds STRATEGY to your question and opens up the conversation to how having guests will benefit you, your business, and your listeners.

Should you script your podcast or wing it?
Honestly, this question gets more attention than the answer is worth.
Why? Well, you’ll have to listen to find out ;)
Plus, to make it simple for you, I’m sharing my “scripting” process and the question you should be asking instead of this one.

So do I have to start a new show or do I have to use the show I already have as it exists?
I wanted to talk about this today because there is some nuance to this decision. I think so often I go into these programs and they ask me questions. They expect me to just say yes or no. And of course there's nuance, nuance everywhere. So I wanted to dive into the nuance of this in this episode, because there's not a right or wrong answer of relaunching or starting fresh. And so I want to start by talking about what you need to consider. And it really comes back to those two questions that I talk about two to four times a day around who are you talking to and what are you talking about? Because these two things are likely to inform which path you need to take.

In this episode, I talk about why I treat this podcast like my most premium offer. Here's why, because I sell my premium offer to people who listen to this podcast. I am a really big believer in how you do one thing is how you do everything, how you treat something is how it will treat you, and so if I treated this offer like it was just a free thing and I could just do it whenever and it wasn't a priority, I would be inconsistent, I would be unplanned, I would be of no value to the consumer, and so it wouldn't reap me any benefits.

In episode 504 I sit down with Lane Clark to share some uncomfortable truths around your team. Lane sits as the chief of staff to high performing female leaders and offers them perspective and support on a project and retainer basis.
I asked her to join me today to share some of her insights around why having someone like Lane in a roll like this can be so supportive not just to you as the CEO but to your team.

Anyone else feeling a little impatient?
I think 2020 has us all feeling an impatient sprint to the end of the year, but today I wanted to speak with you not so much about the trash can that is 2020, but the impatience we can feel in our businesses.
Impatience in how fast our revenue is increasing, our profit is growing, our email list is building, our Instagram followers are growing, whatever the metric may be.
It’s pretty common to feel that things just aren’t happening fast enough.
I get caught up in this too. And its friend “not enough-ness”.
They are REALLY tied together and also really NORMAL.
I’ve found some ways to manage these feelings and move through them (not saying I don’t still feel them, let’s be honest), and on the podcast this week I’m going to lay them all out for you.
So if you’re going through an impatience patch, growling at your goals and numbers for the end of the year, and just wishing things.would.freaking.move.faster, this one’s for you.
