As business owners we have a lot of things going on. This often means we neglect some of the important stuff in our personal lives (partly because our professional life is so tangled up in the personal.

On July 5, 2011 I opened up my first business, and now 3 years later it looks TOTALLY different. Seriously that photo was my first website. So you can see things have changed. In this episode I'ms sharing how my business has evolved. I'm sharing because this month I want to kick off the idea that we need to all spend some time looking back. Look at how far we've come and celebrate it. Also I want us to all evaluate where we are now because that's the best way to figure out what we need to do next to get where we want to be next. I'd LOVE to hear more about your story and what you have coming up in next so hit the comments and share what you've got going on.

Today I'm getting real about why I podcast, since I'm opening up the doors to the Rock Star Guide to Podcasting it only seemed right. I think we spend a lot of time worrying about the tech, the time, and the cost. The thing we overlook is the why. I'm sharing why I podcast, why I don't have sponsors, and why I format the show the way I do. If you're interested in podcasting this is a great insight on why I run this the way I do, and also why there is no right or wrong answer. Be sure to hit the comments and let me know what you love (or don't love) about the show.

It's soapbox time again. I've been really fired up lately because I've been hearing a lot and reading a lot about people saying that there is only ONE way to success, and even worse that there is only one real version of success. That's just not true, we each decide what success means for us and you know what, it can change! Listen to this episode and then hit the comments and share your insights on what success means for you.

I'm really excited to get talking about something that is the cornerstone of a successful business... sales! I know A LOT of online business owners who say they're no good at it or that they hate it but I encourage you to listen to my chat with Kendrick. She's giving some actionable steps to handle sales calls in a way that both convert and also don't feel gross. We're also talking about the art of the follow up, and why it's such an important (and often overlooked) step in the sales process.
A little about Kendrick…Kendrick Shope is the Creator of Authentic Selling, a process designed to take the ick out of selling so that you can do more of what you love, make money, and, make a difference. In her previous life, Kendrick worked for 3 Fortune 500 companies and was a top performing sales representative. You can learn more about Authentic Selling at kendrickshope.com, K TV or on NBC Chicago, where Kendrick is a regular contributor.
