I want to suggest that you are right. This is not how it's supposed to be and not what you signed up for.

AND staying in that mindset is like staying in waves that keep crashing you against the rocks.

There is a cycle I see where we start to hide things from our spouse because we are afraid of judgment and/or afraid of rocking the boat. This hiding is done to protect the relationship but it doesn't work out that way. Hiding often creates disconnection. Projection or mirroring is a pretty common in relationships and mixed faith marriages. Learning about it and building awareness can help you not fall into projection habits that can potentially hurt your relationship.

Sometimes we resist managing things because we think they should be solved. Being in a mixed faith marriage is often an issue that needs to be managed and not solved.
