In honor of Pride Month I interview Melisa Mons is a LGBTQIA+ activist and ally. Melisa is also in a mixed faith marriage. In this podcast we talk about her activism and its impact in her marriage. She shares an interesting analogy about conditional and unconditional love that you will want to hear. She also gives some great advice if you are the parent of a LGBTQIA+ child.

I hear people say all the time that they don’t want to rock the boat. This is often associated with their faith transition and new mixed faith marriage. In this podcast I suggest that (1) change does not have to be feared and (2) boats are supposed to rock. Maybe I take this metaphor too far, but I couldn’t help myself! Fighting can be a huge problem in a mixed faith marriage and it can be an excuse to avoid talking about important topics. Here I discuss various definitions of fighting and question what type of fighting is harmful and what type may be helpful.
