What is the gift of tongues? What do members of the Church of Jesus Christ mean when they say this??   

In many churches across the world, the gift of tongues may mean a variety of things. Some people will claim to have the gift of tongues when they are speaking in a language that no one understands. Others will claim to have the gift of tongues when they are speaking a language foreign to them but understood by others.   

One example that members of the Church of Jesus Christ often use as an example of the gift of tongues is when LDS missionaries (also called Mormon missionaries) speak in a language that they know very little about.
