At the Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA) annual conference, LMA Executive Director J. Richard Williams and LMA President Ray Bourque highlighted the vital role of local government in driving economic growth. The organization supports 306 municipalities across Louisiana by providing centralized resources, administrative training, and legislative advocacy. To further professionalize local leadership, the LMA spearheaded House Bill 431, establishing a mandatory 16-hour annual training mandate for mayors starting in 2027. By focusing on efficient municipal services, open communication, and modern infrastructure, local officials continue to create thriving, business-friendly communities across the state.
