Oftentimes we can think we are putting our hope in God, but it's a lot easier to put our hope in something we can see, something we can control. We put our hope in bank accounts, jobs, what we look like, our stuff, but at the end of the day, it's all empty promises. The only safe place for our hope, is God.

And this happened to Israel in Zechariahs day, when they returned to Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile and were trying to rebuild the Temple. But God encouraged them, because He is the one that see the END, not where we are right now.
