The former deputy leader of the WA Nationals Jacqui Boydell says she has been subjected to bullying, threats and intimidation during her time in the party.

One of Perth's biggest building surveyors has gone into liquidation, JMG a company that played a pivotal role in the construction of Optus Stadium. 

JMG says a decision by the Department of Mines Industry Regulation and Safety to change the criteria of what constitutes safe cladding has led to legal action from building owners. 

The volume of legal action has led JMG to go into administration. 

Director of Building Compliance at Building and Energy Sandy Randall says the rules for non-combustible cladding had existed since the building code came into force in 1990 and hadn't been changed.

She said confusion had arisen after cladding became more popular as a decorative material. 

"It wasn't a rule change it was a clarification amendment," she said. 

"The code is very clear that you cannot used the same approval process for using cladding for different purposes."

Director of Milestone Certifiers and a member of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors Richard Attiwell says the issues were brought about by 'ambiguity' in the code.

Health Insurance Fund of Australia has become the first Australian health fund to publicly declare support for medicinal cannabis treatments and provide members with rebates on products.

HIF has formed a strategic partnership with medicinal cannabis manufacturer Little Green Pharma to support improved access and research into medicinal cannabis as a treatment option for patients.

Justin James, CEO of HIF, told Gareth Parker supporting medicinal cannabis aligned with HIF’s goals of providing new, alternative treatment choices to its members.

HIF has confirmed it will pay rebates for medicinal cannabis across all but one of its Extras policies with eligible members receiving up to $105 back per script – a first for the health fund sector.

WA Health Minister Roger Cook says Pfizer's announcement of a COVID-19 vaccine with 90% efficacy rate is exciting, but it is important to wait for the safety reports in relation to the vaccine.

Gareth Parker says he is nervous but excited to host Breakfast on 6PR in 2021.

Gareth has hosted Mornings for the last four years and says he will not try and replace Millsy and Baz's show, but will instead bring his own spin to the time slot. 

"Next year's breakfast program will be different, it won't be this program (Mornings) brought into breakfast and you will hear more about it and learn more about it soon," he said.

"To the people who are disappointed Millsy is moving to a different slot let me say trust me I get it... he is an institution on this station he is its heart and soul."

Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has developed a COVID-19 vaccine that was found to be 90 per cent effective.

Pfizer and German company BioNTech revealed the results of the trials last night.

Professor Michael Wallach from the University of Technology Sydney joined Gareth Parker to explain how the vaccine was being developed and how the results were found.

Attorney General Christian Porter has responded to claims of inappropriate behaviour made against him in a 4 Corners report last night.  

Mr Porter has denied the allegations that he was seen "cuddling and kissing" a female Liberal staffer in a Canberra bar while married.

Mr Porter told 6PR's Gareth Parker he was considering legal action against the broadcaster.

The claims were part part of an expose' alleging Mr Porter and Member for Aston Alan Tudge had extra-marital affairs, potentially breaching the ministerial code of conduct.

"I have never breached that ministerial code of conduct and there has never been any suggestions I have," Mr Porter said. 

"This goes back to the allegation that this description of something that happened in a bar was indicative of something more and it wasn't."

Australian scientists have found that humans, and most likely the entire animal kingdom, share important genetic mechanisms with a jelly-like sea sponge that comes from the Great Barrier Reef.

Dr Emily Wong from the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Centre says it is an important discovery.

:The more we know about how our genes are wired, the better we are able to develop new treatments for diseases," she said.
