Moser, Lombardi and Kane episodes

  • 5-08-26 Hour 1 - How can the Wild win Game 3?/Scotty thinks Brett's stupid/OKC vs Lakers: Battle of the Whistle
0:00 - Imagine we're hosts of sports radio in Minneapolis/St. Paul this morning...what are we saying to the Wild fans? How are we convincing the fanbase that the Wild can win Game 3 tomorrow?

15:17 - Yesterday on PHD, Scott Hastings disagreed with one of Brett's Nuggets takes. Today, Brett offered up his rebuttal.

32:27 - The Lakers vs OKC. It's like Voldemort vs Thanos. How do you pick a side? There's one benefit to this series. Since the Lakers are playing, the entire national media is watching every minute of every game. And because of that, OKC's flopping and foul-baiting is under a massive microscope. The whole sporting world is finally waking up to OKC's whistle grifting.
It's CRAZY that the Thunder are actually making us feel sorry for the Lakers. Genuinely! That's how bad their flopping is.

  • 5-07-26 Hour 3 - Jeff Legwold/Pick an Avs concern/Broncos sign Justin Joly & Miles Scott
0:00 - Why are the Broncos bringing in Nathan Peterman for a tryout? Anything we should expect from Rookie minicamp? Where have the Broncos made the biggest upgrades to their roster so far? Jeff Legwold of ESPN can answer any/every Broncos question we might have.

14:32 - What's your biggest concern with the Avs right now? You HAVE to pick one. And you can't say injuries or staying healthy. That goes without saying.

33:09 - The Broncos have signed draft picks TE Justin Joly & S Miles Scott to contracts. Joly is interesting...how will they used him based on his body type? Can he finally be the...sigh...god dang Joker than Sean Payton wants?

  • 5-07-26 Hour 2 - Avs are wearing down Quinn Hughes/Looking ahead to Round 2?/Oh, By the Way...
0:00 - The Avalanche have identified Quinn Hughes as the head of the snake. They need to play extra physical with him and wear him down. It's all part of Colorado's game plan: play fast, physical, and beat up Minnesota.

15:10 - Brett watched Ducks vs Golden Knights Game 2 and had one thing in mind...which team would you rather face in the next round? Vic and Moser didn't take too kindly to that. We're already assuming the Avs have won Round 2 and looking ahead? That's bad juju. You're disrespecting a formidable opponent in the Wild.

34:50 - Oh, by the way...The Broncos have invited QB Nathan Peterman to their rookie minicamp for a tryout. Remember him? He threw 5 INTs in one half for the Buffalo Bills, and Jon Gruden berated him for an entire season of Hard Knocks with the Raiders.
Oh, by the way...Bo Nix posted a video of himself running, and all the internet sleuths have pounced on it. Where was it taken? When was it taken? What's the timeline?! How's his ankle? Everyone chill, dude.
Oh, by the way...Brock Nelson is a finalist for the Selke Trophy.

  • 5-07-26 Hour 1 - Biggest Avs concern?/Time remaining in Nuggets window?/Sick of Russini & Vrabel, Rox bad again
0:00 - STRAW POLL: What's your biggest concern with the Avs right now. And you can't say health/injuries. That's a given. Aside from that. And yes, you have to pick a concern. That's how the game works.

16:19 - Draymond Green tried to roast Charles Barkley on Inside the NBA last night, and the joke fell flat. You're not Shaq, Draymond. You can't make those same jokes. Draymond might be the least self aware athlete in the sporting world right now.
But Draymond's comments about the current state of the Warriors raised a bigger question: how much time is left in the Nuggets championship window? Which moves can they make in the offseason to extend the window?

32:41 - More details about the Dianna Russini & Mike Vrabel scandal emerged yesterday. TMZ dropped another bomb. And honestly...ENOUGH already. We're sick of hearing about this damn story. It just won't die!
Also, breaking news: the Rockies are bad again. They've lost 6-straight, and they're on the verge of getting swept by the Mets. The lowly Mets. Today, they need to steal 1 win and get off the schneid.

  • 5-06-26 Hour 3 - Avs feel like the 2022 Cup Team/Colorado's depth is unmatched/What should Moser do??
0:00 - This current iteration of the Colorado Avalanche TRULY feels like the 2022 Cup Team. We said it occasionally throughout the regular season. But after 6 playoff games, we mean it. We know it. This team has the juice to go all the way. They just look and feel different.

14:38 - The Avs' depth is insane. They're getting contributions from all 4 lines every single night. That's what championship rosters do.

34:09 - Moser's flying to St. Paul with the Altitude TV squad to cover Games 3 and 4. But...why? What's the point of Moser going there? Aside from accosting sweet old ladies, what should Moser do in Minnesota?

  • 5-06-26 Hour 2 - Jared Bednar/Avalanche too overconfident?/Oh, By the Way...
0:00 - The Colorado Avalanche are 6-0 in the playoffs so far! 4 wins against the LA Kings, 2 wins against the Minnesota Wild (and counting). How's Coach Bednar feeling about his squad? What improvements did they make between Games 1 and 2 vs the Wild? It feels like the entire roster is stepping up, but in particular, who are the biggest difference-makers in these playoffs?

19:33 - A texter asked us if we think the Avalanche are too overconfident. In 2021, they won the Presidents' Trophy and they were feeling themselves. Then they got bounced in the 2nd round by Vegas. This team feels very different from that 2021 squad. Why? Why shouldn't we be worried about overconfidence?

33:04 - Oh, by the way...RIP Ted Turner. He truly changed the television and broadcasting world forever. Oh, by the way...a school director in Arkansas was running a child fight club. HUH? Oh, by the way...Bryson DeChambeau said that, instead of trying to rejoin the PGA, he'll most likely work on growing his YouTube channel. Then, he'll join whatever tournaments want him. Really? Is that better than sucking it up, paying a fine, and getting back into the PGA?

  • 5-06-26 Hour 1 - Avs Win Game 2/Moser's exchange with an old lady/Playoff slogan, Hate-watching OKC-Lakers
0:00 - The Avs ONLY scored 5 goals last night?? Wow, what a snoozefest. The Avalanche won Game 2 vs the Wild last night, and they'll take a 2-0 series lead back to Minnesota. That was AWESOME. That Avalanche team looks legit. They genuinely haven't looked this good since 2022.

16:06 - Moser drew the short straw last night. So Altitude TV stuck him outside in the snow to do live hits in front of Ball Arena. A sweet old lady walked by him, and Moser chose and interesting phrase to say to her.

34:15 - Thanks to Moser, we have a new playoff slogan for the Avalanche!
After that, Brett also hate-watched Lakers vs Thunder Game 1 last night. Don't you...kinda, sorta, maybe wanna root for the Lakers? Just a little bit? Because the Evil Empire of the Foul-Baiting Thunder can't cruise to the finals. Someone HAS to put up a fight right? SGA can't flop his way through everyone!

  • 5-05-26 Hour 3 - The Avs are adaptable/Nugs lack accountability, NBA players underpaid?/Keys to Game 2
0:00 - The Avalanche are ADAPTABLE. They can play any style of hockey game. You want a 2-1 low-scoring grind-it-out type of game? You got it. Want a 9-6 barnburner? You got it. Whatever style it is, they'll play it. Which type of game will we see tonight?

13:05 - Boogie Cousins said the Nuggets lack accountability. When he was here under Coach Malone, he saw an accountability that has disappeared from the team. Where does that need to come from?
In a recent interview, Steph Curry said NBA players are underpaid for one specific reason. And his logic opens up a whole new can of worms.

30:59 - Avs vs Wild Round 2 Game 2 tonight! What are the keys to an Avalanche victory?

  • 5-05-26 Hour 2 - Jon Cooper is back at it again/Braun takes the blame, Nugs roster tinkering/Oh, by the Way...
0:00 - Our old friend Jon Cooper is back at it again! He had another classic huffy whiny quote in his postgame press conference after the Lightning got bounced in Game 7. Back with a vintage banger! It's like 2022 all over again.

15:54 - According to Bennett Durando, Christian Braun is shouldering a good portion of the blame for the Nuggets first round exit. He said he's the vocal leader of the team, he didn't play well enough, and didn't have the team prepared well enough. Is that true? Is that his role on the team?
And looking at the 1000 ft view, what needs to happen with this roster? Should you keep Aaron Gordon and roll the injury dice again? How about hanging onto Peyton Watson? To keep him, you'll have to offload other pieces.

31:18 - Oh, by the way...we had fans at Coors Field with paper bags on their heads...BUT NOT ROCKIES FANS! The Mets fans traveled with the brown bags. Hallelujah! Oh, by the way...the Philadephia Eagles signed Big Dom to a contract extension. What's the deal with this guy? Fuggedaboudit. Oh, by the way...would you take $50,000 to watch every second of every World Cup game this summer? If so, there's a job opportunity waiting for you.

  • 5-05-26 Hour 1 - Avs vs Wild Game 2 preview/CB was playing hurt/Awkward media exchange in Toronto
0:00 - 0:00 - The Avs and Wild will face off tonight in Round 2, Game 2. It PROBABLY won't look like game 1. Don't bet on a 9-goal explosion from the Avs. So, what WILL the game look like?

16:16 - Bennett Durando of the Denver Post said that Christian Braun tweaked his calf during the playoffs. He was dealing with that injury on top of lingering ankle issues. So, that begs the question again...WHY did the Nuggets spend the offseason acquiring depth then NOT USE THAT DEPTH?? What was the point of trading MPJ???

32:53 - The Toronto Maple Leafs announced the hiring of their new GM yesterday. A reporter didn't like the hiring and wasted no time in making his feelings known at the presser.
