  • Sermon: When You Fall | Job 1:13-22

The Savior in conflict with the cross.
Although the horror of the cross can’t be appreciated by modern Christians, we understand its symbolism. The cross is where Jesus paid the penalty we deserved because of sin. The cross is also the symbol of the troubles we experience because we follow him in faith. In worship today, Jesus puts the cross in perspective, his and ours, and urges us to carry our crosses as we follow him.

    Prayer of the Day
Almighty God, you see that we have no power to defend ourselves. Guard and keep us both
outwardly and inwardly from all adversities that may happen to the body and from all evil thoughts that may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

  • God's Providence Chapter 4

    God’s Providence Chapter 4
God provides for mankind, sometimes directly, but most often through a secondary cause.  God is the primary cause of everything, but he uses secondary causes like family, government, angels to provide for and protect his people.  Grow in your understanding and appreciation for the way that God provides for us in reading Chapter 4 and listening to this episode of Most Certainly True.

  • Sermon: This is What Really Counts... Victory "For Us" Twice Over | Mark 1:12-15

The Savior in conflict with Satan
The Gospels during the season of Lent record episodes in the Savior’s ministry when he confronts the enemies that oppose his work to save. On the First Sunday in Lent we remember his conflict with Satan who sought to deter him from the path to cross. We find great comfort in Jesus’ victory: Satan cannot derail Jesus in any way! We also find an example in our battles with the devil. As Jesus did, we employ the Word of God.

    Prayer of the Day
Lord our strength, the battle of good and evil rages within and around us, and our ancient foe tempts us with his deceits and empty promises. Keep us steadfast in your Word, and when we fall, raise us up again and restore us through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

  • God’s Providence Chapter 3

Just what is the scope of God’s Providence for us?   How much does he care?  How much does he do?  Well, if God cares for the flowers and if he loves the sparrows, doesn’t he love you so much more?  If he provides for the animals and protects the plants, won’t he provide you in vastly greater measure?  He will!  And he does! Rejoice in that truth as you read chapter 3 and as you listen to the discussion on Most Certainly True.

  • Sermon: Now We Can See Glory | Mark 9:2-9

The Last Sunday after the Epiphany
    The Transfiguration of Our Lord

Before he began the journey that led him to the cross, Jesus pulled back the veil of his humanity and displayed to his disciples the magnificence of his divine nature. The Savior we will follow through confrontation and passion during the Season of Lent is the true and mighty Lord.

    Prayer of the Day
O God, in the glorious transfiguration of your only begotten Son, you confirmed the mysteries of the faith by the testimony of Moses and Elijah, and in the voice that came from the bright cloud you foreshadowed our adoption as your sons: in your mercy, make us co-heirs of glory with Jesus our King and bring us at last to heaven; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

  • Sermon: Whose House? God’s House | Hebrews 3:1-6

The Savior Calls Us to Hear and Believe His Powerful Word.
As Jesus began to visit the cities and towns of Galilee and Judea, he taught the people to see him as the Messiah God had promised to send. His amazing miracles gave witness to his authority as a messenger from God. We still hear his words today, and our hearts are fired by his wonderful teachings.

    Prayer of the Day
Heavenly Father, keep your family continually in true faith, so that those who rely only on the hope of your heavenly grace may be protected by your mighty power; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
