I just finished reading "Feeding Jesus" for the first time ...

I just finished reading "Feeding Jesus" for the first time. It is food for the soul. I only read a few poems at a time so I could fully digest them and let them sink in. This is not milk, but meat for the Christian. These are not fluffy poems but real life stories of how we can be victorious through Christ while living in this world that is not our home. After reading the author's life story and then his poetry you cannot help but know that God, and only God, inspired these writings. I plan to read them over and over and over again.

Insightful on a number of levels

I really liked how the chapters were titled by subject! Even though I read it straight through, I can see that I will use it by subject matter as I want to read and think about important issues.

Additionally, I loved how the title of certain poems made sense after you read that piece of poetry. Loved how the title would sink in and helped me reflect on the message from the page.

How does a man sync so succintly with important theological truths? Truly, God has been teaching him and given him the ability to put it on paper.

What a blessing these poems are!! Through his poems, you can see that although he loves Jesus, it was a struggle to get there. His words are real and gritty, and a number of pieces have a twist at the end. They are written for Everyman, yet are deep enough to make you search your soul. I hope he writes many more.

This is the most inspiring book of poetry that I have ever read. These poems are so full of real life issues. You can't help but feel the author's love for Christ in every poem that he has written for this collection. I re-read these words often and they touch my heart every single time.
