In Pushing Leaves Toward the Sun, Berry has taken a personal loss and turned it into an insightful exploration of what it means to grieveand to move on. This story is very emotionally engaging, and the creative musical narrative that accompanies it only deepens the connection to the writing. This is a great read/listen for anyone dealing with lossor just anyone period.

I loved this book, because it selebrated real people, with real characters and real floors. Such a lovely antidote of all the perfect people served to us in the media.

Fractured Truth

This story is fascinating in the way it uses the analogy of the kaleidoscope to set the tone for a description of life fractured into mirrored fragments of shocking discoveries amid a boy's transition into manhood. It is dramatic and pithy. Some of its twists are mind-bending as secrets are revealed and cherished beliefs turn out to be misdirection. A worthy read. Looking forward to the movie.

Kaleidoscope! Great book...best audiobook!

Oppenheim reads his own work well. The story is intense with some drugs, sex, and rock 'n roll... but heck, it was the 60's. The story is dramatic and Oppenheim brings to life his characters. This is a story noire from a most skilled author and narrator. DJ Whitaker

A Journey

I hope the book was not a true story , because it's hard enough for a young man to grow into himself with the daily distractions of life. Elliott Oppenheim uses colorful language to paint the journey of a boy into manhood. Congratulations Elliott!

Just a great read!

I think Dr. Oppenheim may have been right - he was meant to write to novels. This book is a fascinating, fun, and oftentimes shaking read that truly left me upset that I had finished it. The book reads simply and plainly in language (which I appreciate as a reader), but has a truly unique and interesting plot that holds the reader until the final page. Without giving away too much, my best advice is to do yourself a favor and read this book. I look forward to another novel from Dr. Oppenheim, hopefully, in the near future.
