Snow Truer Love

Cute & funny takes turns with hot and wild. Tipton definitely takes Snow White and turns it on its head with this one. This short story was definitely filled with some quite erotic moments. Tipton develops them well and they definitely do have purpose within the story itself, rather than simply being interludes. The mix of fantasy & modern slag was unique, but it definitely worked for this story. Iâll admit, there was a bit of stuttering over the editing in this one. It could have used another pass through, but it was nothing too distracting.

As in many short stories, the characters were somewhat superficial. Snowâs naiveté and lack of wits made me question why so many wanted him on the throne. At the same time, he had some hidden talents that allowed him to shine. I liked how this story tied back, albeit loosely, to the previous story in the series. Tipton reminded me, briefly, how much I enjoyed Mirrorâs character in that story as well.

I find that Tiptonâs Gender Swapped Fairy Tales donât have quite the same flare as their shifter stories, but are still quite enjoyable, quick, hot reads.

Awesome, sexy fairy tales

Iâm a fiend of fairy tales, so when I saw this three-book collection of naughty adult retellings of classic bedtimes stories, I had to download it. Included in this book are reimagined or âreversedâ versions of âRed Riding Hood,â âCinderella,â and âSleeping Beauty,â filled with a lot of kink, a healthy touch of romance, and bursting with hot heroes.

The first story is called âThat the Queen Wills,â which is a reversed take on Cinderella. Young Eliot is abused by his two older brothers and has no costume to wearing to âThe Gathering,â a stand-in for the original taleâs grand ball. Luckily, his rough day takes a turn when the house girl, Amelia, takes a bit of sympathy on him.

The next story is âHunting Red,â author AJ Tiptonâs twist on âRed Riding Hood.â Because the original tale has always fascinated me with its suggestions of lycanthropy and sexual undertones, this was my favorite story of the collection. Again, this is a familiar premise, but the twists are unexpected and incredibly hot!

This is a very well written and edited trio of tales. The chemistry between the characters makes for some super-sweltering sex scenes. Very reminiscent of the Anne Riceâs âSleeping Beautyâ series. If you love good fantasy and good erotica, donât miss this collection!

Good stories

Reverse Fairy Tales? I'd say so! LOL. While not my thing it was written well. I think of all of them I enjoyed Breaking The Curse the most. First book is F/F/M JUST to warn you. They should have a warning for that because not everyone reads those type and they'd get a real shock lol. Enjoy AJ's work and she's got an interesting imagination.

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series. It was action packed, love relationship and good lead and back up characters. As a short, there was not time to get to know the secondaries but they enticed and were likable.

Through the series married couple Liam and Audrey's marriage was in a mess. Work, his job on the police force, her working and attending college along with the pressure of were and human were too much. They loved each other but had stopped showing it and fell into thinking the other didn't love them anymore.

The first three books set up the marriage issues and some series work issues. Liam was working on a serial killer case, he was being stalked by a shifter police woman who wanted him to mate with her. When Audry began to be threatened instead of pushing them farther apart it was the magnet that drew them back together.

This is fast paced yet you do not feel there is anything lacking. That is a real feat with a short story. Don't miss this full series. I heartily recommend it.

Great Fantasy with interesting Protagonist.

Flawed Gods by Angela B. Mortimer (Flawed Gods Series Book One)

I'm not even certain in what genre I should put this book. It has elements of Science Fiction and Fantasy with a healthy dose of fantasy. Then it has elements of Romance, but more on the end of explicit sex though I have seen worse. Finally I came to the conclusion that the main character Doella is a female version of a Lothario. It's similar to taking The Memoirs of Jacques Casanova de Seingalt and inserting a female in his place.

This is a good read with some interesting ideas and occasionally touching the boundaries of the comfort zone.

One problem I had with it is that just as with Casanova I had a great difficulty feeling anything helpful or hopeful for Doella. Well it's not quite true because I did feel for her at the beginning; since she seemed to be mourning the death of Paul. Of course as the story unfolds that compassion is lost quite quickly.

Doella is masquerading as a human named Louise Baker. We find that she is really an anthropologist for a race of beings living on Varos. They have been tweaking and accelerating mans development not just on Earth but on Earth of several parallel dimensions. She and her people have bracelets that enhance the power they have to travel through these dimensions. Doella is a hands on anthropologist in the worst sense and she has been going native more than she probably should.

To lighten things up we discover that the world of Varos is conducive to promiscuity in the early years of development. Conversely when they marry they marry for life, but they seem to be encouraged to play the field. To this end Doella has been experimenting with love with some of her co-workers and apparently a large number of the subjects of her study. Enough that one character seemed to rightly suggest she couldn't give an accurate number. And it seems that even though she a number of times marvels at the possibility that she might be so beautiful that men would fight over she also somehow seems to have the same attitude as Casanova in that she seems to think she is gods gift to man.

She is engaged to Takos but despite efforts, Simune has rebuked her efforts; while she has engaged in a relationship with Carnos.

I can't remember which was which, but I got book 4, 5. (I bought one book and the other was free.) I started to read book 4 and soon realized that I would have to go back and read the previous books - I had NO idea what they were talking about! When I went to look them up I found they were just more than I could pay for ebooks. So, I'll wait until the others go on sale and then read them all chronologically. 2

Not worth the time or money. First ones free then the rest are not

This was the worst series I have read. It went fast because it was such a poorly developed plot. These all could have been one book idea. No one wants a link to a bunch of books especially when this one is so poorly developed. Before putting this out it should have been reviewed and brought together better. This could easily have been written by a teenager in an English class and only got a C on it for lacking development of the idea and plot.

Good short read

Author is a excellent at holding the readers attention. I need to read the previous stories to determine where these characters came from and how they came to be in this short story.

A tiger shifter must make a life-altering choice

Happy Birthday to the author! This is an enjoyable fast-paced story about a tiger shifter and a choice he must make to save an innocent woman. I like the characters, and look forward to learning more about them. The writing could use another edit (there are inconsistencies and a couple of typos), but the author did a good job overall. It was fun to read a shifter story from a new author, and I hope to see more of her creativity.

Not up to the hype

The story "choppy" and jumps around a lot. There is not a great deal of elaboration. The story just leaves you hanging and wanting to know if they are truly safe. No one leaves as easily as the story indicates.

Very nice story line

Note to author. Very nice story line, but readers read books to be pulled into the story. Not smashed over the head with it. Put in more detail, build your characters, try again. Make this 36 pages into somewhere closer to 360.

SEXY TIGER VERSES LION!!!!!

I was sent this short story for an honest review...Very fast pace. Trevor works as an assassin and is sent to take a lion shifter out named Dale. He misses the first time which is unheard of for this tiger shifter. The next time he's called out, Dale is at his girlfriend's. While Trevor is looking through the windows, he sees that an email has came in while Dale is in the bathroom. After she reads the email, Dale catches her and Trevor comes in and tries to take him out again. Now he's stuck keeping the girl safe also. This short story could have been an AWESOME novel.

First, let me say that I'm a huge fan of the original Grimm tales, so when I had an opportunity to read a modern take on Fundevogel, I totally jumped on it. Plus, it was a huge relief to find it a love story between two adopted siblings--not together since birth but rather since 10--instead of a girl and a magical bird.

Because of the bare bones structure of the original tale, Jewel Quinlan was able to hash out an amazing story that grabbed the reader and didn't let him/her go. The writing was technically very, very good (I've stopped looking for perfection in anything published anymore, but still can't find it in myself to use excellent either). The story moved at a quick but steady pace. There was enough grit to make it enjoyable even though the conclusion was inevitable and easily predicted (not a fault of the author--I mentioned that I was a lover of Grimm's tales). Definitely worth reading and I'm looking forward to other stories in the anthology!

Not what I was expecting

while a fan of Grimm fairy tales, I thought this book was just lacking. The story was just thrown off by the start and it just didn't have enough body context to have an easy flow. Also the typos, grammatical errors, and structure of the chapters makes it hard to keep your interest. However with that said, it was a very interesting take on a fairy tale made current and new.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed story from this author. The only thing I did have an issue with was the adopted brother as the romantic interest. I have an adopted sibling and it's just icky thinking of them as anything but a sibling.
