  • Never Forget Someone’s Name Again — Do This When You Meet Them | Dr. Mandell

Have you ever met someone, heard their name clearly, and then seconds later realized it was completely gone? This happens to millions of people, and it doesn’t necessarily mean you have a bad memory. Names are unusually difficult for the brain to remember because, unlike a face, voice, object, or location, a name often has very little built-in meaning or visual information for the brain to grab onto. When you first hear a name, it enters working memory, where attention is limited and easily interrupted by everything else happening during a social interaction—making eye contact, thinking about what you’re going to say, listening to the other person, and being aware of how you are coming across. If that information isn’t properly encoded, the name may disappear before it ever becomes a stable memory. In this video, I explain how attention, working memory, the prefrontal cortex, and the hippocampus work together when you meet someone, and why stress, fatigue, poor sleep, distraction, and simply having too much going on at once can make remembering names even more difficult. More importantly, I’ll show you several simple ways to make a name more memorable the moment you hear it. Repeating the name once out loud can strengthen your attention to it. Connecting the name to a visual feature gives the brain another association to retrieve later. Adding a small physical movement, deliberately focusing your attention, and creating a meaningful association can provide additional cues for encoding and recall. Timing also matters—the first few seconds after hearing a name are important, so instead of trying desperately to remember it minutes later, give it your full attention immediately. Forgetting a newly introduced person’s name from time to time is common and is different from persistent or progressive memory problems involving familiar people, places, events, or everyday functioning. The goal is to work with the way your memory naturally operates: pay attention, create associations, repeat important information, and give your brain multiple ways to retrieve it later. Try these techniques the next time someone introduces themselves and see how much easier remembering their name can become. Please share this video with your friends and family, and most importantly, make it a day! Dr. Mandell

  • Heal Neuropathy, Nerve Pain and Inflammation | Dr. Mandell

Burning feet, tingling hands, numbness, stabbing pain, and electric-shock sensations can be signs that your nerves are irritated, damaged, or struggling to function normally. In this video, I share 9 powerful ways to help support neuropathy, nerve pain, and inflammation by addressing factors that can affect the health of the nerve itself. You’ll learn how stabilizing blood sugar, reducing oxidative stress and chronic inflammation, supporting mitochondrial energy production, getting adequate magnesium and important B vitamins such as B1 and B12, and nutrients including alpha-lipoic acid, CoQ10, omega-3 fatty acids, and curcumin may support healthier nerve function. I’ll also explain why regular movement, quality sleep, breathing, and stress reduction can play an important role in calming overly sensitive nerves and supporting cellular repair. Your nerves require tremendous amounts of energy to maintain normal electrical signaling, and when mitochondrial function and ATP production are impaired, nerves may become more irritable and hyperexcitable. The goal is not simply to cover up burning and tingling, but to understand and address factors that may be contributing to unhealthy nerve function. Neuropathy has many possible causes, including diabetes, vitamin deficiencies, medications, chemotherapy, nerve compression, and other medical conditions, so persistent or worsening numbness, burning, tingling, weakness, or pain should always be evaluated by a qualified healthcare professional. Always speak with your healthcare professional before starting supplements or making significant changes to your health regimen. Scientific References: Ziegler D, et al. • The Healing Power of Lemon — Fight Inflammation and Protect Your Body | Dr. Mandell

Discover the healing power of lemon and what this simple citrus fruit may be doing inside your body. Lemons provide vitamin C, citric acid, flavonoids, limonoids, and other powerful plant compounds that have been studied for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In this video, Dr. Alan Mandell explains how lemon water can support hydration, digestion, healthy circulation, immune function, collagen production, and your body's natural defenses against oxidative stress. You'll also discover why citrate from lemon is especially interesting for kidney health and calcium stone prevention, how citrus compounds may influence inflammatory pathways, and why replacing sugary drinks with refreshing lemon water can be a simple addition to a healthier lifestyle. Lemon is not a cure for disease, but research continues to uncover fascinating ways its nutrients and bioactive compounds may support the body's normal protective and metabolic processes. Make this valuable information part of your healthy lifestyle and please share it with your friends and family.

    PubMed Research:

“Can Lemon Juice Be an Alternative to Potassium Citrate in the Treatment of Urinary Calcium Stones in Patients With Hypocitraturia?” — A randomized clinical study found that fresh lemon juice significantly increased urinary citrate, an important factor in reducing calcium stone formation.

“Features, Pharmacological Chemistry, Molecular Mechanism and Health Benefits of Lemon” — A scientific review of Citrus limon discusses its bioactive compounds and reported antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, metabolic and organ-protective properties, while noting that evidence varies by outcome and study type.

“Citrus limon (Lemon) Phenomenon” — This review describes lemon's flavonoids, phenolic compounds and other bioactive constituents and summarizes research into antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.

“Effects of Citrus Fruit Juices and Their Bioactive Components on Inflammation and Immunity” — This PubMed-indexed review describes how vitamin C and citrus polyphenols interact with oxidative stress, inflammatory pathways and immune function; much of the human juice evidence reviewed was from orange juice rather than lemon specifically.

“Limonoids With Anti-Inflammatory Activity: A Review” — Research examining limonoids found in citrus and related plants describes anti-inflammatory activity involving inflammatory mediators and cytokine pathways, primarily from experimental studies.

  • Sleep on This Side Tonight — Your Stomach Will Thank You | Dr. Mandell

If you wake up with reflux, bloating, heaviness, abdominal pressure, or throat irritation, your sleeping position may be playing a bigger role than you realize. In this video, I explain why sleeping on your left side may help keep stomach acid lower, support more comfortable digestion, encourage natural movement through the digestive tract, and reduce pressure that can contribute to nighttime discomfort. I’ll also show you how anatomy, gravity, circulation, and body position interact while you sleep, and why such a simple change may help you wake up feeling lighter and more refreshed. Tonight, try starting on your left side, keep your neck and spine supported, place a pillow between your knees if needed, and pay attention to how you feel in the morning. Small changes in how you sleep can sometimes make a noticeable difference in how your body feels overnight and the next day.

  • Plaque and Yellow Teeth? Try This Simple Mix | Dr. Mandell

Plaque buildup, surface stains, unwanted bacteria, and yellowing can make your teeth look and feel less clean, but a simple combination of coconut oil and baking soda may be a useful addition to your oral-care routine. In this video, I’ll show you how these two common ingredients work together, how coconut oil and its lauric acid may help reduce certain oral bacteria, and how baking soda can gently help remove surface stains and neutralize acids in the mouth. You’ll learn exactly how to prepare this simple mixture, how to brush with it gently without overdoing the abrasion, how often to use it, and why coconut oil is also commonly used for oil pulling. I’ll also explain why you should never swallow the oil and why it’s better to dispose of it in the trash rather than the sink. Remember, this is intended to complement regular brushing, flossing, fluoride toothpaste, and professional dental care—not replace them. If plaque has hardened into tartar or calculus, it generally requires professional removal by a dentist or dental hygienist. Try these oral-care tips responsibly and share this video with someone who wants cleaner-looking, brighter teeth and healthier gums.

  • Do This for 24 Hours and Watch the Scale Drop | Dr. Mandell

If your weight seems to fluctuate overnight, you feel heavy, bloated, or uncomfortable in your clothes, this video explains what’s really happening inside your body and how to reset it in just 24 hours. Sudden changes on the scale are often driven by shifts in glycogen storage, sodium balance, hydration, and electrolyte regulation, not true fat gain. When carbohydrates are stored as glycogen in the muscles and liver, they bind significant amounts of water. Excess sodium intake can further increase fluid retention, especially around the abdomen, face, and ankles.

In this video, Dr. Mandell explains how increasing water intake, restoring potassium and magnesium balance, reducing processed foods, and supporting natural kidney function can help the body release retained fluid efficiently and safely. You’ll also learn why movement, sweating, fiber-rich vegetables, and simple dietary changes can rapidly improve bloating, digestion, energy, and scale weight in a short time frame.

This is not about extreme dieting or fat loss claims. It’s about understanding how your body regulates fluids, electrolytes, and metabolism so you can feel lighter, look better, and regain control quickly. Many people notice measurable changes within 24 hours, which can be a powerful motivator to continue healthier habits long term.

Try it for one day and pay attention to how your body responds.
