Josef Newgarden took the race win in top fashion and won the $1 Million prize for becoming the first driver to win a race at all types of circuits this season. Marcus Ericsson finished 2nd after passing Alex Rossi at a late restart and heading into the championship lead. There were lot more talking points coming out of the National Park of Speed. A P2 and a P4 bring Jehan his best points haul this season. Although the first win of the season is yet to come, the pace and consistency is right there with the Indian driver as he closes in on P2 in the standings.

Red Bull are 1-2 in the drivers' championship courtesy of a Ferrari double DNF. It leaves Ferrari 80 points behind Red Bull in the constructors' championship. But that was not all the talk in Baku, a lot of issues came up for different teams and drivers making it a wonderful weekend for F1 even there was less wheel to whee racing at the front of the pack.

Will Power took his 1st win of the 2022 season at the last race to be run on the Belle Isle circuit in Detroit. Alexander Rossi was in a resurgent form after signing a contract with Arrow McLaren SP and chased down Power on a different strategy in the final laps of the race, falling behind by just 1 second. Will Power takes the championship lead from Indy500 winner Marcus Ericsson and heads into the 2nd half of the season driving really well.

The Berlin Tempelhof circuit produced good racing as always with it's high grip and dual layout setting inside the old airport. Edo Mortara is back in the championship fight after 2 poles, a win and second place finish while Jean Eric Vergne and Mitch Evans score a total of 3 points between them in Race 8. There were other surprises as well with Porsches not scoring as expected in favourable conditions.

The build up to the INDY500 could not have gone any better than the mixed conditions chaos of a race at the IMS Road Course. Colton Herta took his, Andretti's and Honda's first win of the season after an opportunistic strategy call early in the race and some skillful driving in the wet.
