God's story becomes our story at the moment of our conversion, but the story is not meant to end there. As we read in Acts 2:37-47, the response of the earliest followers of Jesus did not end at their baptism, but continued in continuous devotion to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and prayer. This week we look at what it means to be devoted to the apostles' teaching and fellowship.

To be a witness is to testify to the apostles teachings about Jesus in both our words and our deeds. Since the time of the church is the final chapter of God's plan to save the world, the church, as a body, must live as "Jesus witnesses" to the world around her. Our focus text this week is Acts 1:1-8.

As Christians, we are living between God's rescue through Jesus' death and resurrection and the final rescue of His return. In the meantime, live in the new today in light of the new that is to come! Our key text is Revelation 21:1-7.

Jesus was born so that he could defeat the great evil through his death ad resurection.

Rescue has come. Rescue is coming.
