Themes such as prayer, trusting God's sovereignty, the mediation of Jesus, the ransom he paid, the oneness of God, the exclusivity of Jesus' mediation and evangelism are all present. God's love for all people is a very big theme.

This weeks sermon looks at false teaching. It looks at the gospel, and how the gospel must remain at the centre of our Christian lives. It is the standard we follow, by which we test everything else. Right doctrine produces right living. Bad doctrine produces evil living.

This sermon focuses on the authority of Paul as an apostle, and the authority of the scripture he writes. We need to obey the scriptures. I look at the names of God - God as FATHER, Jesus our HOPE, God our SAVIOUR - and talk about how those names are all related to the gospel. We now relate to God as our hope, and father and saviour because of what he's done in Christ. Paul then PRAYS the gospel for Timothy. This sermon is all about the gospel.
