Russ May may questions if he's 'Interesting' - says the Italian who plays in an Irish rock group, rocks kilts, surfs tabletops and isn’t afraid to bring Metallica deep cuts to your local open mic night.
Russ May has been working hard on providing a platform to up-and-coming artists, but also brings a unique brand of rock n’ roll entertainment to Harford County and beyond. He is a talented guitarist, but that’s not his only instrument. He’s stopped by to tell us where he’s been, where it’s going and if Lars is a good drummer.
Join me in welcoming Russ May to THE MOG!

Brett Buehler is a podcaster, musician and hockey enthusiast. We recently had the idea to have each other onto the other’s podcast. I joined his Part-Time Rockstar Podcast back in January and now he’s here.
He’s a gifted guitarist and songwriter for the band The Hollow Truths, but you’d never know it because he's soft-spoken and a genuinely modest individual. Join me in welcoming 'Buehler' to The MOG!

Josh Matthew is a prolific and unique creative powerhouse who is best known for his time with Baltimore’s own Megosh, but more recently, his genre-defying group, Pink Elefants [with Finch Flores]. He’s a master lyricist, a truly gifted vocalist and a visual artist for the modern age.
I’ve been following Josh’s work for a lot of years and I’m absolutely blown away by his passion and drive toward creativity. Josh isn’t just his paintings, he’s the canvas, too – a living, breathing definition of what it is to be an artist and live a life on stage.

Melanie Hemling and her Mandatory Leisure Group is an entire vibe onto its own.
Her rhythmic acoustic passages and smooth voice live somewhere between the annual Hot August festival and an afterhours speakeasy jazz club, hidden behind the walls of a New York City Italian Restaurant.
I’ve only seen Melanie perform once, but I was instantly impressed and can’t wait to see how her songwriting and career opens up. She is Harford County through-and-through, but will soon have the entire world in her hand if she continues down the dirt road she’s currently walking. Join me in welcoming singer/songwriter Melanie Hemling to The MOG!

They may be young at heart, but don’t let that fool you, they’ve already circled the Mid-Atlantic block a couple of times and have even thrown their own Hotbent music festival in the short time they’ve been playing together.
The groups music could be considered pop punk or emo, but in the way that a new group might sound if they helped ignite the genre(s); it’s real, raw and uncompromising.
Their pop punk group is as much a musical outlet as it is a family; so, after a bit of arm-twisting, I’m breaking my own rules and am happy to welcome, for the first full-band MOG to date, Elle Saulsbury, Alex Folmer, Neel Massey and Austin Collins – better known as Heartbent.

On this show, I sat down with the Baltimore based folk-pop duo, Wild Whispers. This collaboration of singer/songwriter music is chock-full of rich harmonies, sure to warm your winter blues with a little downhome #Fire.
The group has made a lot of noise since their inception in 2019 and they have a lot in-store for the future. Catch them next time they’re in a town near you, but for now, sit back, forget the roar of the crowd, listen closely and get ready for Wild Whispers!
As always, we did a deep dive into the origin story of this artist from Baltimore, MD.

Coal has been around since the Dal Dawn of time and they’ve dug in to turn a few of their deep cuts into diamonds. If you didn’t like those Dad jokes, well, settle-in because Dal and I are both old enough to be your father. Mr. Dawn isn’t shy about sharing his opinions or his art, so I’m excited to learn more about his views, lyrics as well as the catalyst for his artistic pursuits – as to say, what makes him tick.
He traveled a bit to be with us today so join me in welcoming Mr. Dawn to THE MOG!

Anthony Hurley is a versed singer/songwriter/musician out of Baltimore, Maryland. I’ve had the opportunity to watch his story unfold and I can assure you, it took a hell of a lot more than '7 Days'. We have a lot to unpack because what makes for a good song is a good story and Anthony has one.
From 7 Days Torn to Rosabella to branching out on his own, one thing is for certain, the fire the inside of him just keeps burning brighter. He’s a hell of vocalist, a father and a husband and he’s here today to talk about how he keeps it together. Join me in welcoming Anthony Hurley to The MOG!
The demo song at the end of the episode is called: "Hiding in the Clouds". We were told to share only a partial of the song; stay tuned for the full release!

On this show we welcomed back one of our first guests to talk about a few of his passion projects, how they’re developing and his plans for the future. Dan Houtz isn’t just a musician, in a lot of ways he’s entrepreneur and a champion for local artists. I’ve been ‘Tracking’ his growth over the years and just when you think you’ve got him all figured out, well, Think Again. Join me in welcoming Dan to shows. Let’s see Houtz he’s doin’!

On this show, I sat down with the other half of Thrillkiller; the time travelin’ renegade, Rex Razor, better known to the Baltimore Music Scene as Rob Bradley. Over the summer I had the pleasure of sitting down with his guitarist Sebastian Ochoa, but today I’m excited to be talking with the visionary himself; the future-past rebel known to many as POWER ROB.
Rob is best known for his voice and ability to channel notes in the upper stratosphere, but there are a lot of sides to Rob Bradley you may not know about – his theater background, workout regimen, gaming and how he keeps juggles it all.
So, hop into your phone booth and dial-up yesterday because today we’re sittin’ down with Mr. Rob Bradley of MEGATRONIX, THRILLKILLER & POWER ROB!
