This week on the podcast I am bringing you another guest episode. I am so excited to share my conversation with Sarah (@kiwiandcarrot) and for you all to hear her story on her recovery from HA.
In this episode Sarah talks about her fitness journey, how she thought she was doing everything right from a health standpoint. She was exercising 5-6 times a week, eating 1600-1800 calories a day, eating foods that were “clean,” and was in the normal BMI range. From the outside, everything looked great.
When Sarah went off birth control to begin her family, she discovered her body wasn’t having a natural period and was eventually diagnosed with HA. We dive into her story, what she did to get her period back and how she has redefined health for herself today. We talk about redefining identities, working through the process of gaining weight, and reestablishing trust within ourselves and with our bodies.. Because our bodies are so much smarter than we give them credit for.
A little about Sarah: Sarah Romero is a certified personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist. After recovering from hypothalamic amenorrhea and years of exercise addiction and disordered eating, she is now a strong advocate for body positivity and the anti-diet movement. She works with her mom as a food and wellness blogger for their blog, Kiwi and Carrot, as well as a contract photographer and videographer. Her and her husband just built a home together nestled up Little Cottonwood Canyon in Sandy, Utah. Sarah adores traveling with her husband and loves to spend her time outside whenever she can, rock-climbing, canyoneering, hiking and trail running.
I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.

This week on the podcast I am bringing you my FIRST guest episode of season 2.. an amazing interview/conversation with Naomi (@dietculturesucks).
On this episode we dig into how Naomi got to a place of body acceptance and out of the diet culture mentality. Why she doesn’t think we need to love our bodies all of the time to recover. How much time/brainspace diet culture steals from us. Self care and how we can expand the definition. How binge eating/emotional eating is demonized in diet culture and how we can start removing the shame around eating. How to be curious about our behaviors, thoughts, and feelings rather than judging them. Thin privilege, fat phobia and so much more.
A little about Naomi: Naomi is a former marathoner and diet culture dropout who chronicles her experiences with eating disorders, exercise addiction, dieting, and binge eating on her insta blog @dietculturesucks. She is passionate about body positivity and Health At Every Size. She writes to share the things she wishes she learned as a young girl struggling to recover in a culture that validates disordered behaviors as normal aspects of being a woman.
I hope you enjoy this episode!!

SEASON TWO IS FINALLY HERE! I am so excited to be back and to bring you new episodes every week. While I cannot wait to release the conversations I’ve had with my amazing guests I have decided to kick the season off with a solo episode to discuss New Year Resolutions and goal setting, specifically when it comes to health and weight loss.
It is SO common to set goals around our health and losing weight especially around this time of year. And it is also common to find ourselves a few months in feeling like we have failed or have done something wrong when we haven’t reached the goals we have set for ourselves.
In this episode, I not only provide you with tools on how to understand the why behind your resolutions but how to move away from weight loss goals and instead define what the best/highest version of you *feels like* and how to make decisions that align with those feelings.
Health is SO much more than weight loss and the best part is that we get to define what that looks like for us on an individual level. In the end, we get to decide how we want to feel and what works/doesn’t work for us on a day to day, moment by moment basis and we can do it from a place of love.
I hope you enjoy this episode!!

It feels so good to be back and I can’t wait to share this season with you all. On this sneak peek bonus episode I go into:
My reason for my tag line change : Why I decided to switch “Because there is a more freeing way to be fit” to “Because we all deserve to feel at home in our bodies”
Why I want to create a new conversation around the New Year (instead of focusing on losing weight, hopping on a new meal/exercise plan, or giving into the pressures of diet culture), what that means, and how you can jump on board.
Who you can expect to hear from this season as well as some of the topics we dig into (and a quick preview of some of my favorite lines from my conversations with these amazing guests)
If you want to follow along, you can use the hashtag #movewithradiance and tag me (@stephaniedankelson) so I can support you on your journey! I have also created a private Facebook page for anyone who is interested in extra support around the New Year and in changing the relationship they have with their bodies/exercise/food. Request to join here.
Please feel free to share this episode with friends, family, or anyone who you think might need a different message this holiday season. Let’s start changing the conversation around the New Years and learn how to come home to our bodies.
Expect the official season to launch January 3rd and I cannot wait to have you all along for the ride!
So this is the final episode of Season 1!! I want to say THANK YOU for all of your love and support and for showing up week after week, I seriously can’t do this without you.
Doing this podcast has taught me SO MUCH and from these lessons, I have decided to make some small tweaks on my end to help bring you the best, most helpful content every week. So if you have guest or episode suggestions I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! (Send me an email at [email protected])

This week on the podcast I am bringing you a solo episode to discuss something that has been on my heart lately, core beliefs.
So often, we put all of our effort and focus on changing our behaviors to achieve a desired result: we switch up our workout routines or our diets or incorporate a rigid morning routine all with a specific outcome in mind, a specific feeling we want to achieve. But how many of us find ourselves in the same position time after time asking why we haven’t moved forward or why we have taken steps back.
What many of us don’t know is that we all carry around these deep rooted beliefs about ourselves, and whether we realize it or not they are dictating every single action we take in this life. They are either holding us back or propelling us closer to the highest versions of ourselves. Until we do the deep internal work and open our eyes to those beliefs, we will never fully change our actions and therefore our results in this life.
In this episode I dig into all of that, how to recognize your core beliefs and how to start changing the ones that do not align with who you are/who you want to be. Because once we shift the beliefs that hold us back the actions and therefore the results we desire will follow.
I so hope you enjoy this episode

This week on the podcast I am bringing you an interview with two incredible people, Jess and BJ.
I LOVE conversations like this one.. I went in prepared with some questions and didn’t hit on any of them because the flow and natural convo was everything my heart wanted to dig into. We touched on topics that are so resonate with the learnings I am leaning into right now in my @hungryforhappiness certification program like actually feeling and leaning into our emotions (and getting out of our own way when doing so), Scarcity vs Abundance mindsets, how our beliefs, thoughts, and feelings affect our actions and therefore results in life, setting an intention and energetically aligning our choices with that intention, how our triggers are a vehicle for our healing, white light paint suits and more. Folks, this is a must listen.
A little about Jess and BJ:
YogiTriathlete is the lifestyle, wellness and coaching team of Jess and BJ Gumkowski. It is centered around their passion for sharing a recipe of vibrancy that has transformed the way they approach everything in their life. It’s a recipe that takes the work out of life and gives entry to the coveted flow state. Jess and BJ refer to this process as tapping into the inner badass.
Jess is a 500-hr Live Love Teach trained yoga and meditation instructor, board-certified massage therapist, 4x Ironman triathlete, 2x 50k ultrarunner, Vegan Lifestyle Coach and Educator, writer, speaker and podcast host. She credits mindfulness practices and high vibrational eating with creating significant and meaningful changes in her health, career, and relationships; and holds both essential to peak performance in sport and life.
BJ is a 13x Ironman triathlete, Ironman 70.3 World Championship and Boston Marathon qualifier, personal trainer, triathlon and running coach and a 200-hr Live Love Teach trained yoga instructor. He is a wellness advocate and is certified in Plant-Based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. His zeal for life is infectious as is his passion for serving those around him in achieving their greatest dreams.

This week on the podcast I am bringing you an interview with my dear friend and yoga instructor Anne-Marie.
In this episode we hit on allllll of the things: belief systems, self care, boundaries for ourselves, leaning into emotion, being gentle with ourselves throughout our healing processes, looking at ourselves from a place of acceptance not judgement, play and so much more. Anne marie is a christian and we discuss how her faith has contributed to her personal growth, but I truly believe that whatever your spiritual beliefs are you can relate to her story and connection.
A little about Anne-Marie: Anne-Marie lives in Park City, Utah and is the proud mother of three children. She has practiced yoga for over twenty five years and has been teaching for ten. She has always been interested in emotional evolution and spiritual growth. Through years of self-exploration, Anne-Marie has developed a teaching style that compliments her students’ efforts for greater fitness and inner awareness. As a visual artist she is known for both intricate detail and bold expression. Her work is in numerous private collections across the U.S. She is a staunch believer in the value of art education and has contributed years of instruction and curricular enhancement to private and public school environments. Anne-Marie has found her stride as a coach who works closely with clients seeking wellness through meditation, yoga, creative expression and a thoughtful approach to nourishment through the art of eating well.

This week on the podcast I am bringing you an amazing interview/conversation with Nicole DeBoom. Last week I released an episode about my recent journey in sobriety which was sparked by this honest and very candid conversation with Nicole.
We get curious.. About our identities through drinking, why we drank, what we were searching for through drinking, and how we decided it was time to give it up altogether. We talk about coping mechanisms, suppressing emotions, redefining who you want to be, and in Nicoles words:
“Accepting who you are, accepting the shit you did, (good bad or ugly) with whatever emotions are tied to it, accepting it and realizing that *you are not alone.* So no matter what you did in the past that you may feel ashamed about, embarrassed about, sad about, proud of, whatever, someone else out there is sharing those same feelings and has trumped you. We are not alone, you have not done the worst thing in the world or the best thing in the world, we are here together.”
A little about Nicole: Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Nicole was a standout swimmer, qualifying for the 1988 Olympic Trials and later graduating from Yale University. She decided to pursue the sport of triathlon and started racing professionally in 1999, racking up countless podium finishes. During the final stage of her racing career in 2004, Nicole created and introduced something that had never been done before – the first running skirt. Shortly afterward, Nicole went on to launch Skirt Sports with the mission of helping women find inspiration, confidence and courage through the transformative power of running and fitness. Today, Skirt Sports is a national women’s apparel brand offering a full line of products that fit real women’s bodies and support their busy running lives. Currently, you can find Nicole chatting with customers at the Skirt Sports Boulder flagship store, helping women change their lives through her non-profit organization Running Start, interviewing visionaries for her popular podcast Run This World and chasing around her 6-year-old girl, Wilder.
This episode is just two people sharing our lives, our struggles, our vulnerabilities, our learnings. And it goes to show that connection stems from humanness. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
